The NHL Playoffs are almost here! 16 teams will be competing for the Stanley Cup and I thought it would be fun if we made bet on who the winner will be.

There's spots open for a total of 16 people to bet. Each person can only bet once, on a team of their choice, which hasn't already been bet on by somebody else. A bet will cost 1 reclaimed metal.

Whoever had the bet on the Stanley Cup winner will take home the prize pool PLUS an El Jefe hat, for the Scout, which I will be throwing in to encourage people to bet.

In the event of a team winning, that nobody has bet on, the prize pool will be given to whoever bet on the next highest team.

Deadline to bet is one hour prior to the first playoff game.

2) [strike]Boston Bruins[/strike] - vudu
3) [strike]Florida Panthers[/strike]

5) [strike]Philadelphia Flyers[/strike] - gregolas (bet received)

I'm surprised that nobody, besides myself, has made a bet.

I'm throwing an El Jefe into the prize pool, at my own expense, to encourage betting.

I'll throw a rec at the Devils winning. Gotta represent my state

I feel like the Stars could go a bit far, but not to winning it. Otherwise I would. :/

They had a good shot for a while, along with Dallas and Calgary, but San Jose and Los Angeles stepped their game up towards the end.

my favourite team is edmonton... but they kinda crapped the bed, just looking at Pittsburgh though with malkin and crosby there going to light up everyone they play

Some people are saying Edmonton just threw the season. They didn't make very many shots last night. It became obvious it was going to be Vancouver's game. Dubnyk was playing well though.
