To the Leadership: Why Dustbowl? ;~;

To get the servers running 24/7 we need more overseas members to help pick up the slack while the rest of us are in lala land for the night. Until that happens none of the servers will ever truly be in use all the time.

I mean right now it's 11:00pm PST and both Valve and dustbowl are empty. Foundry with 5, 3 of which are idling, and 2fort is filled to the brim like always. There has to be a way to raise more awareness or make our servers more incising.

Yes get alot of overseas members and than move the servers more west.

I think if we're gonna have a dustbowl server at least take it off VALVe maps although I don't hate dustbowl I'd much rather play mesa

Moving server to Kansas was like the dead of BlackMesa, Those were the highest ping ever.

BlackMesa has been a staple map of this community for years, it really speaks to the direction of the organization when it gets the axe.

I for one am glad we have a dustbowl server now. probably my favorite map. I have 6 non eGO dustbowl servers Favorited and most days i wait 15 minutes to get into one of them. now i will have a server to play on with a map i like and still be able to support eGO..

I could do a long winded response about how I am mad about the change and blah blah blah, but if we remove dustbowl from VM, we lose our biggest filler. We also just spread our numbers even more. People who would join looking for dustbowl on VM dont need to go to VM anymore, they just go to the 24/7 Dustbowl. Sure we could remedy this by removing Dustbowl from VM, but then we have no big map filler. Honestly, I am just dissappointed right now. I am still dedicated to the organization and hope you guys are too. This is just a bump in the road, I am sure if we band together we can work through this.

I understand what leadership did. I understand why they did it.

But, Blackmesa WAS filling!

Since Roker started his "Save Mesa" Campaign, making the OM group, and even giving a bills away, mesa has been full the hours it needs too. And i agree, Dustbowl is NOT filling any faster than Mesa was, if not slower! There are THOUSANDS of Dustbowl servers. And only ONE Blackmesa.

You guys have to think about it, if you spent so much money on something and no one is using that something, would you think that you would want the best results as possible with that something. For example if you had a shop that sold fish, wouldn't you want the fish that people eat the most? What if you had a fish that no one ate and you were making it for no reason, you would probably say to your self. "Why am I making this if no one eats it?"

I think the problem here is that the leadership cares about server rankings and statistics instead of its community. It is impossible to gain server ranks without a community. Having a community brings server success. Additionally, server rankings are an arbitrary measurement based on some stupid website, and say nothing about how much fun is being had on a server.

If this obsession with rankings is about money, then how about this idea. If you listen to you community and try to keep it happy, you will have more people willing to make donations.

It's on quickplay, it's new though so it doesn't have a high quickplay ranking.

Soooo u guys support the quick play maps and not the community I understand now.

Leadership asks everyone to help fill the servers, they ask us to recruit people to help fill our servers, they ask us to help run these servers and keep them clean and proper and we listen and do as you ask us to do, but now when we ask for a change in a server map...even if its for a week to try something new its shrugged off and discarded. I actually thought things were different than that around here. I wont and cant be a part of that, hell the way things are going around here I doubt I will ever be on our servers again. Anyone that misses playing with me, that has me on their friends list, feel free to send me a pm or join what ever server im on at the time. See ya when I see ya.

A custom map rotation is something we will consider for future server changes, I personally would love one. I will say now that we have a community suggested server change coming shortly, but I won't say more until all the details have been finalized.
