Battlefield Leadership would like the announce the first round of Battlefield Assassin!
For those of you who do not know what Assassin is Wikipedia explains it fairly well:​

Assassin (also Gotcha, Assassins, KAOS (Killing as organized sport), Juggernaut, Battle Royale, Paranoia, Killer, Tag, Elimination, or Circle of Death) is a live-action game. Players try to eliminate each other from the game using mock weapons in an effort to become the last surviving player.

Assassin is particularly popular on college campuses; several universities have a dedicated "Assassins' Guild" society, which organizes games for their members. Game play occurs at all hours and in all places unless otherwise disallowed by the rules. Since an elimination attempt could occur at any time, successful players are obliged to develop a healthy degree of watchful paranoia.

Our version will run very similarly to the way it is stated in the Wikipedia article. All those who wish to participate must sign up. Once sign ups close we will give everyone a target and the target's information. Once you receive your target's information you will have two weeks in order to assassinate your target. Only you will know who your target is. In order to assassinate someone you must knife him in such a way that you take his tags (the animation knife take-down). In order to receive credit for your assassination, take a screenshot using a program such as Fraps and send the screenshot to LilShortstuf. Once your screenshot is received your next target will be assigned to you based on who your target's current target is. The last person left alive will be the winner.

Rules and Guidelines:
  • You must be a member of eGO to participate
  • The server must be at least 50% full
  • Assassinations may not be done during eGO events
  • All assassinations must be done on eGO BC2 or BF3 servers
  • All assassinations must be tag taking knifes. No frontal slashes allowed.
  • In order to claim credit for your kill you must PM a screenshot of the takedown to LilShortstuf. Once that is done you will receive the information for your next target. Fraps is a good program for taking screenshots. A free download is available at http://www.fraps.com/
  • You will have two (2) weeks per target. If you are unable to assassinate your target in that time you will be removed from the competition. If your target is too inactive you may be assigned a new target or given an extension

Prizes:
Prizes have yet to be determined but once they are decided upon this thread will be updated with the prizes.
There will be a consolation prize for the first target assassinated since you will be out of the competition for a very long time.

The aim of this competition is to add a little extra fun to the game while you play normally. This event runs constantly whenever you are playing so watch your back! If this is successful and you guys have fun with it we may consider making this a recurring event.

I'm sort of confused Short. We all sign up, and are paired with someone to knife, and then the first to knife the other one wins that bracket?

Only you will know who your target is. Also two people will not have each other as targets because then there would be no new target once you knifed them.

Makes me sad that the new generation has apparently not heard of the greatest game in history.
 
Touch? Thundr. I miss nuclear training in the navy. My roommate, me and one other guy had to form a council to Designate safe areas, cause we noticed an issue with people getting their roomates as targets and others unable to study which required you to be in a certain room for a specified amount of time due to the classified nature of our job, and to approve the makeshift weapons, cause you would think a group of grown super intelligent adults would have common sense but apparently not.

Wild kard go read the Wikipedia article I linked. There are some hilarious stories involving this game and the cops.
 
when does this start? I'll be busy these next about 2 weeks but then i'll be able to play more again.

Bit of a side note - When I was in high school I organized a game of assassins. The set up was one assassin and ~20 victims, if the assassin could kill all the victims before someone killed him, he won. If a victim figured out who the assassin was and killed him first, they won. The guy I picked as the assassin turned out to be too good, killed all but 8 in the first 2 days. The remaining group all ate lunch together everyday at the same table. He placed a very convincing bomb under the table, wired to an alarm clock set to go off at lunchtime. Unfortunately he set it for am instead of pm and it went unnoticed until the cafeteria workers found it while folding tables up after lunch. Long story short, the assassin and I both served a weeks suspension and I'm guessing we're both quite lucky it happened in a pre-Columbine world.

Anyway, that's my story. Now give me my victim already.

You definitely are right about being lucky!

Today an expulsion would be getting off easy.
