Nice to see you again Johnny! We had some Division issues when the game launched (people playing on other servers, people not actually playing, lack of division involvement), but everyone has seemed to return and the BF Division is as good as ever!
Yeah it's pretty amazing. To me anyway. It receives a lot of rage, but I would say it lives up to its hype.
I don't know if you ever played BF2, but I used to a lot. I couldn't wait for the modernized successor to BF2, and it was well worth the wait.
Don't get me wrong, I loved BC and BC2, as their gameplay was (what I would say) revolutionary (full player-caused destruction? pretty amazing), but they weren't true Battlefield games. When I first stepped into BF3, it was the first time I felt like I was truely playing a full Battlefield game since BF2, but it takes what was great in BC/BC2 and what was great (for the most part) from BF2 and melds them into an amazing game.
However, it does have its disappointments which I shall list (most of the original disappointments have been patched out):
Current:
1. Shipped maps were disappointing for the most part, with only about 3 of them worthy of being called Battlefield Conquest ready. (All 4 B2K maps are fantastic though)
2. No Commander
3. Destruction isn't quite as good as it was hyped up to be (but still very good)
4. Not enough normal rush servers (I've loved Rush since BC introduced it, and while Conquest will forever be my favorite, I still like to be able to play Rush, but there are VERY few good servers to play on)
Patched out:
1. Map sucked (they fixed it pretty well in the last patch)
2. Squads sucked (fixed like 2 patches ago)
3. Lots of weapon balance
4. Commo-rose sucked (fixed even more in last patch)
5. No horns on vehicles (simple addition, but without it, trying to get your teammates to get in your jeep was impossible)
6. Bugs (a lot of the original bugs have been patched out)
And last but not least, the one thing I have hated most about BF3 (but have since gotten used to):
Battlelog/No true "game"
I hated the idea of playing my game through Battlelog, but after using it for a while, it's starting to grow on me.
The other part that I hated about it was that when you launched "BF3" it launched Battlelog, not an actual game with different menus and a server browser and such.
Overall I'd rate it:
(at launch) 8.25
(after numerous patches) 9.25
Worth every cent, since day 1 (and sorry about this rediculously long post, but I've waited a while a chance to fully explain my view on BF3)
