Hi guys,

I Was having a doll moment at work while i exploited the time to check battlelogs forum.
On the forum i found out there's a section to recruit/promote a platoon.
So i figured a big community such as ego should have a thread there already, but i checked the search button and what i saw suprisingly was : nothing.

My eager enthousiastic me then figured hmm then i'll make one so i did.
what i would like to accomplish posting this here is that it would be awesome if people from ego reacted on the thread telling how awesome ego is and why you like our community.
The more well funded positive eyecatching comments the better it looks to potential pubbers clicking it, also pubbers will see a whole bunch off platoon threads whitout hardly any comments and on the other side see threads whit a few 100 comments.
Logically thinking that's quit logic pubbers dont want to join small community's often.
So get your writing pen out and help out a hand.

Things like this need to be run through leadership before they are done so that we can approve of the action. I know you were just trying to help but this is something that really should have been posted by a leadership member. I'm not saying that your post is bad (in fact it works fine) but we can't have members just posting willy-nilly because it can cause issues.

This has come to bite us in the ass. As far as I'm concerned, I say leave it be. Overall, it's not just a "let's hate eGO!" thread.

Also, if it's going to be an official document, it should be typed professionally, in my opinion. Nothing against you Netsky, but you are from Belgium, and your English skills aren't exactly on par with some of the American members...although it is nice to show that we're accepting to everyone. It's a meh situation.

Anyhow, I think the whole idea was a lost cause from the start, and a haven for dislike/hate on us.

EDIT: Apparently the thread I found was one created by a pubber advising others not to join our server...not the advertising one. Still, I'm iffy on whether it's a good idea. The posts get bumped ever so quickly to the latter pages, and the hate posts are still going to be posted there by some people. Good in theory, bad in execution? :confused1:

eGO is used to be trolled and will always be trolled, there are several anti eGO youtube posts, forums, posts on forums. ...
No need to get pumped up about those, there pritty common.
Ignoring the trolls and haters is a strategy that could be used but i don't find that good commercial for our community either.
The thread you found was probably from a pubber stating he was kicked because he was better then the admins, and about admin stacking to win right? those threads jump up from time to time then it just depends on how the "strategy" sounds to handle haterd. Taking the **** or handling it following our rules.
Besides we're really not the only community which gets trolled and hated, it comes whit the succes, call it jealousy or not beeing able to coop whit our code off conduct/....

About the bumping: i understand above point about the bumping/moving 2nd page/...
but considering how many seconds it costs to typ in "bump" => lol its quit possible that whitin those seconds a bunch off people could have seen the thread so then its worth it.

well in the few days i've been in battlefield i noticed we "lack" members compared to other divisions add to that we have 7 servers (2bc2 5bf3) and i guess we dont have the current population for that amount (again compared to other divisions server population/admins on vent(steam).... .
So yeah i think we need members to ensure we keep having 7 servers (at least inlong run)

Because we are so hurting being in the top 92% of servers in all of BF3. This isn't a source game. In fact compared to Source games BC2 and BF3 are relatively new games and cost more. You can't expect a memberlist based off of other divisions like TF2 (F2P), CS:S(which from my understanding may get a ton of recruits but maybe 1% actually play), or even DoD.

We may not have thousands of members but we have a dedicated bunch. Heck I don't even play that much anymore but if someone asks me to help fill a server and barring 2 of the servers which are easilyy filled without me I gladly help and it takes a round or two usually to fill and we are on to the next one.

On top of that you're judging our playerbase on European timezones which honestly If i was in Europe I would most definitely go with a closer European nation whose internet infrastructure is far better than any American server. Cause assuming Europeans are anything like myself when it comes to gaming, anything over 80 ping is nigh unplayable and when I can get that here only a few states from our servers I can't imagine the pings from Europe. In no way am I trying to degrade our European players, I'm just saying the vast majority probably would rather find a server closer to home.

Edit: As far as admins I am always on Steam and usually always on vent unless I'm sleeping or at school which is only a class a day except tues and thursdays where I'm only not here when the rest of our vent dedicated division is on. So the real issue with population/admins is just no one bothers to find the admins on vent who may not be playing on a particular server. Or a few admins who I will respectfully decline using their names who just ignore rulebreakers like its no big deal.

BF3 is still a new game on the market so there is no way for us to compete with games like CSS or DOD which have been in existence for a long long time. As Wild already pointed out recruiting for BF3 is a totally different ballgame than that in any steam based games, the gaming culture is vastly different. Even then our recruiting numbers have gone up by a mile thanks to the efforts of members like Tumblin and others who stay on our servers day and night and are always trying to recruit. Net, your jumping onto too many assumptions and conclusions, slow down a bit, we are doing fine as a division, just need to keep working at it. There are always more than enough admins on vent, if not atleast 1 leadership member is present at most times as well.


In conclusion, lets get down to some action rather than just complaining or pointing out issues. We are an amazing division with a strong dedicated member base which is only growing in numbers constantly. Keep working hard and im sure one day BF will be the biggest division in eGO
