Lag Issues

Hey guys, ive been having some SERIOUS lag issues lately.


What is the problem?

Little lag spikes every 30s - 1 minute. Ill be sniping, and i freeze for 5 seconds, then be fine. VERY annoying lol


What i know
---------------
It IS on my side. I have these issues on evry TF2 sevrer, (have tried dozens) and even CoD servers. It is NOT my ping (Ping average is 60), and its not my connection (Have 5/5 bars)

What i need too know
---------------------------
What is causing this lag?
Can it be fixed?
If so, about how much will it cost?

Well if you have 5 bars, you must be using WiFi. Without knowing your actual physical environment, try looking at THIS to see what other WAPs are nearby that could be causing interference.

*** Before you do this below, I advise backing up the config file on your WiFi router just in case. ***

If you see a bunch on the same channel as you, you might want to change the default channel on you wireless router to one that does not overlap with the others, depending on the band your using (2.4GHz would be b, g and n; 5GHz a, n). If you are using b or g NIC and router then use whichever channel of 1, 6 or 11 that are not being utilized by surrounding WAPs.

That is one reason I prefer not to game on a WiFi connection. Not that it's bad. You're using the air as a medium of transportation of data and it can get sketchy occasionally due to a number of variables.
