Weird connection issues with Jail

[Oberst]

Hola everyone,

Over the last few days i've been noticing some really odd stuff regarding me trying to join Jail. I'll load up CS:S, refresh my server browser but I don't see the Jail server there. I look on my friends list and usually see a few people playing on there but I can't connect. My remedy for this is to alt-tab out of the game for about 5 minutes and come back, I refresh my browser and then the server pops up. I was wondering if anyone might know what could be causing this? I also verified the integrity of my game cache and de-fragged it as well. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

It's the server. I'm pretty sure bear put some kind of block on it to prevent the DDoS attacks, which also blocks you from being able to view it (sometimes) on a server listing. I haven't had too many problems with this but it does happen for me sometimes.
Instead of trying to connect off the browser, try getting the IP (for whatever server you want to join), open up console and type
connect 75.126.144.81:27015 (jail server)
or
connect 75.126.144.80:27015 (high school server)

don't include the (jail server). I was just telling you what server it is

If you do it through console you should have no problem connecting to the server. I hope this helps

Yea i was having the same issue :/

Sounds like Cisco firewall blocking your computer

I don't have a cisco router, but I could see the masking of the server IP to prevent ddos'ing would make more sense.

The only issue I have been having is the Italy server not showing up on my friends list when I know my friends are in that server. So instead of joining their game, I have to load CSS first, and then join the server. That's about it. Not sure about jail... I'm barely ever there.
