Tribes: Ascend Officially Released

<div style="width: 550px; text-align: center" align="center">Have you ever Ascended into something greater than your average FPS?

Many of you know what this article is about. Hi-Rez Studios has officially released Tribes: Ascend to add a new chapter to the already highly successful Tribes series. The game, initially in open beta for players to test, was officially released April 12th, 2012.

This new game brings a whole new meaning to skiing. Literally. Tribes: Ascend is a fast-paced first person shooter which combines hi-tech weaponry with traditional landscapes and the game modes of old: Capture the flag, Team Deathmatch, and a personal favorite from Tribes 2, Rabbit.

Tribes Ascend is the sequel to Tribes 2, which was made back in the 90's. Tribes 2 featured graphics that were considered top-notch for its time and provided fun for hundreds of thousands of players.

Hi-Rez has not released the ability to host dedicated servers, but in an interview, expressed the high possibility to add dedicated servers in a future update. With this news, the Operation:X division is looking into picking up Tribes to add to their game lineup.</div>

YESSSSS. Been playing this game every day.

P.S. Did anyone else notice in the video it said "Static noob." Gotta love those kind of targets.
 
I love this game so much, but I've never gotten so angry at a game. Its truly a love-hate game.

it's hilarious and satisfying as Infiltrator to go pick off those targets.

I think they have released the dedicated servers option? (correct me if I'm wrong, although they did say you could rent out servers for personal use)

I sincerely hope OP:X adds this to their listing and gets some servers up. I would love to hang out with (throw sticky grenades at) some fellow members on these servers.
 
Played it for a little while, I think I am getting addicted. The graphics and gameplay are absolutely amazing!
 
I highly recommend this game. I have played a lot since beta time and it just keeps getting better and better. This was my first game in the Tribes series and I have been missing out for sure. Fast paced, action packed, and a great time even if you just feel like putting on some music and skiing around in circles going for the flag every now and then.

You mean Halo looks like Tribes, since, you know, Tribes came out BEFORE Halo...

And yes, dedicated servers are an option and there already are a number of custom servers available to play.

Tip: Play at least once a day to receive First Victory award, which gives you additional XP (to upgrade armor, weapons, perks, etc.). I play at least once to get that award (which works for any gametype; CTF, CTH, TDM, Arena)
 
I might check into it if it gets a big enough community ;). Looks fun but all multiplayer games need a stabel good community for it to be worth buying.
 
Make sure to check it out. We already have at least 20 people playing it from CS Division and tons more from OP:X

We are the "Lab Rats" LOL :lol:
by the way, the itself is good to play. It's just that I haven't get used to the controls and stuffs.
