Guild Wars 2 Beta Weekend

This up-coming weekend, April 27-29, will be the first Open Beta for Guild Wars 2.
If you pre-purchase Guild Wars 2, you have access to all the beta's until the game comes out as well as 3 day early access to the game when it releases.

As part of the Guild Wars 2 Open Beta, Edge Gamers would like to invite you to participate in the Beta with us.
We will be gathering in the "Guild Wars 2 Beta" event channel in ventrilo and streaming our in-game experiences for everyone to check out.
We will be playing on the Fort Aspenwood server, so be sure to select that as your server.
If you're interested, just show up and start steaming. We suggest you download the game as soon as you get your email on how to do so.

We will also be meeting up daily to take screenshots and have a sort of meet and greet so be sure and check in daily during the Beta event for meet up times and places.




Guild Wars 2 has been some time in the making. If you're not aware about the game yet, it is a sequel to Guild Wars with many innovations.

Is there a particular server everyone will be playing on? I know a number of us are planning on heading to Fort Aspenwood.

The event wil be taking place on the Fort Aspenwood server, per our conversations in another thread. It would be best to play on this server during beta so that when the eGO events take place, you have a character available to participate with.

So Im assuming that Fort Aspenwood will be the official eGO guild server when the game comes out.

Hard to say, things could change, other guilds could move around, etc. Best to just plan for the betas for now, we still don't even have a release date.

New beta weekend just announced by arenanet. It's going to start Friday June 8th, at noon PDT (GMT-7) to Sunday June 10th, at 11:59 p.m. PDT (GMT-7). [Link]

They've announced all information about the beta via Facebook as well. Curious if they will use the same client.

They used the same client for their stress test... So I can only assume...

Also glad to hear previous Beta characters weren't deleted and I can work on my Ele and Thief more. <3

Information has come out that you use the same client, it'll just patch when you start up. Surprisingly, characters haven't been wiped, so you still have everything from last BWE.
