Uninstalling steam games

So ive been looking to clear some space off of my HDD, and decided to remove some steam games i don't play anymore. I did some searching to figure how to do this the right way and 50% of the people say just uninstall it like any normal program( through the control panel). And some people say just delete the local content through steam.




So which is the proper way to do it? (or the easier way)

I would say just delete the local content as it is much easier and isn't hard to do.

Deleting local content typically takes away the bulk of game files. However some games have other files that need to be deleted as well. Make sure if you're going to delete a game, delete the other files as well, unless they're customizations or something that you want to keep.

I would say uninstall them from steam first and then delete the files in the folder if any are still there for maximum space to be emptied

1) Delete local content if you may reinstall those games later. Otherwise,
2) Do what Digital said to fully remove the game files.

In my experience, uninstalling them from the control panel just opens the steam uninstaller which does the exact same thing as deleting local content.

Okay im just gonna delete the local content since i may reinstall the games at one point or another and you all seem to agree on that.
