Sony is making a Smash Bros style game with Playstation franchise characters. So far a handful of first party characters have been revealed but they plan to reveal the rest this year.

Why did they want to copy smash bros? I was hoping it would have been more like Street Fighter. I haven't ever like the SB series so I'll have to pass on this. From reading the comments for the video it looks like it's got the Smash Bros fans pretty mad for copying "their" game.

I've been reading about this on Penny Arcade today and really, really agree with them...

After you get past Kratos and "that guy from God of War", you don't really have a whole lot of Playstation exclusive characters that are horribly memorable... I mean look, they had to rip Parappa out of his long slumber just to help fill out the roster. And I know I saw a Helghast from Killzone pictured behind the guy near the end of the video, so there's that. I figure Ratchet &/or Clank will make an appearance somehow at least as well.

But after that, who's left? When you think of heavyweight Nintendo characters, you can't really ever fall short of 10 at minimum just off the top of your head, but not really with Sony...

Nathan Drake, Cole from inFamous, and Sweet Tooth are the only other memorable characters I can think of...Maybe Crash Bandicoot since he started out on the PS. I'm still confused why Parappa is there...that shows they really had to dig deep for characters.
