Here's THQ response on your error
Thank you for contacting THQ Customer Service.
It has come to our attention that an error occurred during replication of our PC game Company of Heroes Game of the Year. The error is related to the application instructions for the operating software.
This is only an issue for the Game of the Year version of Company of Heroes and does not affect other Company of Heroes products. We have taken steps to correct this problem and are making the correct game code available in several ways:
On-line Players:
Effective November 5, 2007, gamers will be able to automatically update their games directly when they boot-up online. The game will automatically prompt to download the update and the patch will be downloaded and applied.
Autopatching process notes are:
Launch Company of Heroes: Game of the Year
A pop-up will appear prompting you to download a patch.
Agree to download the patch
After downloading, the game will exit and begin automatically applying the patch
Relaunch Company of Heroes: Game of the Year
Your patch has been applied – enjoy the game!
Gamers That Don’t Have Internet Access:
For gamers who don’t have internet access, THQ has developed a consumer swap program that will allow them to replace their current version of the game with the updated version. This will be at no cost to the consumer and will be publicized on various online sites. It is our goal to have new product in the consumers’ hands within 48-72 hours from the initial call, beginning November 5
Game replacement instructions are as follows:
Call THQ at 818-880-0456 to notify one of its representatives that you purchased a Company of Heroes Game of the Year product.
Verify disc code (you will be prompted for this).
The representative will walk you through the appropriate steps to receive a replacement disc at no cost.
Replenishment Inventory:
THQ is manufacturing an updated version of Company of Heroes Game of the Year that will be available the week of November 5, 2007. All replenishment will come from this updated stock.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your patience while we address the issue.
