Last night was, to say the least, huge. Rushing to prepare for the night, I checked the eGO site a final time and discovered that I had a private message from Leftenent. For those trying to determine to significance...well, it just doesn't happen everyday, and he wanted to talk to me. What in the hell had I done?
I quickly hopped onto Ventrilo, and as I pulled on my dress clothes for my Confirmation mass, I listened to Leftenent. "Well, congratulations, you've been promoted to eGO!" Most likely I sounded like an idiot at this point, but you're gonna have to ask Left. On my end, my brain was busy trying to process this information and contain my excitement; the promotion was a total surprise and, to say the least, exciting.
Damn near everyone who's played with me already ought to know that (hopefully I can describe myself) I'm an easy-going yet strong-willed guy. Of all things, it's my jokes that get me in trouble most often, or else my hyperness.
Enough about me though. This thread is here so I can compose a formal thank you to each of the members of eGO, but even more so the Battlefield Division. Since I rejoined about 9 months ago, you people have been the ones supporting and encouraging my endeavors, as well as examplifying what it means to be a honorable, respectful member or admin of the greatest online PC gaming community Ive yet found. Never when I've had an issue to talk about or stress bothering me has any friend of mine here denied me the opportunity to vent; furthermore, they share in my happiness. Hopefully, the same can be said for me.
The most important lesson I can share is this: be yourself. There aren't any cookies waiting out there for you if you choose to act like, well, not yourself. Sure, it may make things harder, or slow down the process of receiving admin, or even bore you at times. Nevertheless, always strive to maintain your same self at all times. In all honesty, I'm somewhat socially awkward in my class, being the only PC gaming nerd. At the time, it even surprised me, but when I took my online character (no pun intended) to the table in my life, not only did I become a better person, but I broke down barriers that seemed impossible. Don't take this as though you should be the same person day after day...change is good; however, refuse to go against what makes you happy. Eventually, being happy will guide you to your goals, and ultimately, final success.
