CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS II has been revealed to the world today. The thing that caught my eye is that it takes place in the future but yet again the graphic engine still bothers me (old, outdated).

So my question to you is... What do you think the next battlefield/bad company will be like (theme, time period, game play, etc)?
ANSWER THE QUESTION HONESTLY DOING A LITTLE SOMETHING WITH THE ANSWERS YOU GIVE

How dare you post such blasphemy on these Sacred Battlefield forums!!!! I refuse to buy any recycled CoD games (and by recycled I mean they haven't upgraded their engine or anything substantial in the game since the original modern warfare). And the fact the CoD is a highly overpopular title just because it appeals to the small children that can't play FPS that require any level of skill, rather than who has the game aim for them and who pulls the trigger first.

Rant over, I won't be getting it. Lol
 
And the fact the the BF3 game graphics look better than their cinematics. Lol
 
And to answer your question, I hope they do a "remake" of 2142 on the new Frostbite 2.0 engine. Titan mode was the. most. epic. game mode to date on any FPS I've ever played.
 
I would guess that the next BF game will be 2143. Only seems fitting. I doubt they'd do 2 modern era games in a row, unless it is Bad Company, which I doubt will have a 3rd entry for a while.

As for BlOps2, same old game engine, same old graphics, same old animations, new scenery = same game. The fact that they have a yearly entry that people flock to buy is, honestly (and I will use quite a strong word here), disgusting.

Do people not see how shallow the gameplay is? How every "new" game is a recycled version of the last one with some new guns/attachments, some modded perks, and new maps? My friends love it, and bash on Battlefield, and I sincerely DO NOT understand.

Battlefield is not perfect, but it is much, MUCH higher quality. DICE has a standard of quality that cannot be beaten IMO. Activision is just too money grubbing. EA is not much better, but it still is better.

^ I somewhat agree. I LOVE WWII FPS's (BF1942 was what got me into FPS) and I would like to see BF1943 on PC, IF AND ONLY IF it has instant action with bots. I loved the instant action in BF1942, (via LAN) BF2 and BF2142. I didn't even start playing multiplayer on FPS's until my friend made me try it on BF2 about 3-ish years ago

Personally I like futuristic shooters which is why I hope the next BF Game is 2143 and why I am very eager to play Planetside 2

well if you go off the 'hinted' 2143 number on a crate on wake island a 2142 sequel would be a good bet, since in BF2 they had similar types of easter eggs that hinted towards 2142 before it came out. personally i would love to see 2143 seeing how much i loved 2142 and also titan mode on frostbite 2 engine would be sweet

I strongly hope on a battlefield back in world war 2.
For some reason i just don't like futuristic shooters and i am kinda getting bored off all the modern shooters nowadays.
Reason why i am looking forward to the new upcoming brothers in arms (ww2 tactical shooter) even though ubisoft messed up the storyline big time.
I am a gameplay addict, having a good storyline is a bonus but not a most.
About the upcoming cod not in a million years i'll get that.
I can't judge gameplay whitout playing it (even though cod stays cod :s) but i'll just pass for the theme.
 
LOL had it not been for COD I wouldn't play BF, I love both of the series
 
Nothing to see here, just a new $60 Call of Duty game...

I like CoD, but the $60 is ridiculous for the lack of new content; people stop playing the game by the next one anyway, so there's no cheap way around it.

For the next Battlefield...I just hope it's something fun and a little different while sticking to the principles we know and love.

ah i remember myself liking cod a lot back in the days on playstation even Moh was one off my favorites i quit both though after moh pacific => terrible!!!!
 
Highly doubt I'll get it. Every time I buy a new CoD game I'm highly disappointed as it's the exact same as previous CoD's.
 
I would like to see BF 2143. I think I have seen enough of modern warfare(not COD, but the general topic) and I want to see what the game creators can role out next.

What I want to see from BF 2143 is Titan Mode. It was the best gameplay mode of BF2142 and I think they should bring it back. In some cases the it would be the new rush/conquest mode for the new style of gameplay which we all need but we shall see.

Alright here's my rant.
The call of duty series have been strong when the first three games came out. Call of duty, united offense and 2 were all really good games since it was all based on skill. Call of duty 4 came out strong by taking the modern approach and doing some good stuff with multiplayer by adding perks and customization. World at war took the ww 2 pacific approach and it added zombies. The multiplayer was also really good. But the series started to die out when mw2 black ops and mw3 came out since the graphics were repeated and multiplayer samething. The story for all 6 ges would have been really good if it was longer and the combined wih each other.

On the battlefield side 2143 is very likely since bc added 1943 and bc2 added Vietnam
