I have a few questions for the republic PvP'ers of eGO:

1. Why is there no organized PvP events for us?
2. Is there a PvP officer?
3. Why do we all have Vent but never call out a target's name or give our location or what we are doing in a WZ? (I believe it is called communication)
4. Is there a general disatisfaction with PvP in SWTOR, thus no real interest?

I am serious, I am not trying to be mean or QQ, I am really being serious. It will help me adjust my playstyle and my play time in this game if I knew more.

Ok guys, I think its time to say that the republic suck in general when it comes to pvp... I think in order to get better we need to start playing more together and pick different ways to win matchs. Cause in tired of being 3 capped in Warzones. And for all the people that dont like pvp and complain that pvp suck we as a group should get better.

I agree there is no organization that y we lose... the gear is also a factor... but i was doing ok in pvp with the recruit gear. So I think we should all practice more together for communication. BTW i completely agree with u Ayeax.

I will try to answer these questions for you Ayeax and hopefully at the same time answer any questions other people might have on this matter.

1. Why is there no organized PvP events for us?

The reason you guys have no pvp events is really simple actually in that no one has asked for one to be hosted on your side. The best way to get one hosted is to make a suggestion to your ec team and they will try their best to get one set up.

2. Is there a PvP officer?

The Republic side does in fact have a pvp officer which is Jake.

3. Why do we all have Vent but never call out a target's name or give our location or what we are doing in a WZ? (I believe it is called communication)

This is a tricky question to answer and I will answer from my personal experience on this matter. On the Empire side we try to set up a game plan before a match starts and generally try to stick to that game plan as much as possible. When we fight over an objective we generally don't call kill targets, but instead we call out how many healers they have and try to focus them down or split our dps to keep their healer busy as we take targets down. The use of vent is useful in this and when we get to ranked warzone it will be mandatory. The lack of communication will improve just have to give it some time.

4. Is there a general dissatisfaction with PvP in SWTOR, thus no real interest?

This is a personal question that will differ from each person you ask and in general you will never get a solid answer for it.

Thanks Seablade, I appreciate the help. Without giving up your deepest secrets (we are still opponents, and you all enjoy killing my little guys waaay too much) without callng a target's name, how do you focus? Do you all just know each other's style well enough to pick up on the target? Or, do you just kill the marked target? I know these questions seem awfully foolish, but through real life experience in WZ's, I have found focusing on a healer sometimes gets your whole team killed or an objective lost. Healers are sometimes really hard to kill, and there might be a juicy low health target that just needs to be done.
Either way, thanks for the input Seablade, that was pretty nice of you.

To give insight to you, Fin. NEVER underestimate the value of gear. Until you have full warhero gear that is completely augmented and modded to exploit your best secondary stats, you ARE undergeared. Never lose your thirst for that next piece. Matter of fact, you should know exactly the next piece you are working for and be searching the GTN or allies who craft to maximise it. Fin, I envy you because you chose a amazing AC for PvP. Now equip yourself. My best advice to you is call the name of who you are targeting, because of your potential burst dps a comrade might be just what you need to finish your opponent off. Also you are the ultimate Hutt ball scorer, your main job is to stalk the enemy goal area in stealth and make sure you know which side your team is progessing on. You have alot of potential and your intiative and competitve spirit will benifit you and your team around you.

I never pvp alone on my agent and generally on the empire side I know how my fellow guild members play when it comes to pvp. Given also I hardly ever pvp, but if you do see me in a warzone I'm usually with a guild member or two.

Honestly we dont usually call for targets over vent..and when we do its mostly healers

When i arrive to a location (for instance i died defending in Voidstar and come out of the shield) i look at who ever is fighting and figure out whats the best move..good people talk great people just know what they should do as a group.

And even tho you might find a target juicy cause hes at 30% hp remember if he pops his cooldowns and a healer shows up he can easily get back to 100%..so CC or kill those filthy healers

I agree tho that kind of coordination where you dont even need to talk to know what the other person has in mind only comes with experience..with playing with eachother alot..or in our case by having the same kind of pvp mentality

So... we're not supposed to talk about those borg-like implants that link our minds in warzones?

*NullWolf uses Humor... it's not very effective.*

and on the 7th day god creathe Vent! and mumble and team speak and other problems we never use

You can talk to call out targets it just clutters vent if you have 8 man divided accross the map and everyone is calling out targets >.>
cause honestly you might have 1 leader..but hes not in 2 places..you might have 2 leaders..but if one dies the rest are clueless? cant have 4 leaders or even 8leaders lol

Its best if you just look at the other person and see what they are doing..helping them is probably the best idiea

Yea thanks Man... Maybe we should get with Jake( PvP office) and Rayalight(Event Officer) and see if we could get some pvp events going. And possibly some PvP teams for during the week, Like scheduled PvP matchs for practice.

I guess through observation n WZ's, I see often that my comrades fall due to 2,3 or more leaping sith. That kind of coordination calls for a little more than seeing a friend and targeting them.

Another possibility is my hand-eye coordination is not what it used to be and vocal ques could be decisive in making up for that. (Fighting all you 20 somethings, you whipper-snappers!)

Overall, my evaluation of Republic PvP is most like a group of 8 year olds playing soccer. Everyone is doing their own thing, no coordination, and no one plays with a strategy or their position. They all run to the ball and try to kick it.

+1 for using a soccer reference
-10 for using it in a negative way
tsk tsk

im just giving you my opinion..when we are grouped we always go for the healers first then the ones that have the highest Damage output to survibility ratio
we do call out..when we need help on a side or when we are attacking a particular healer (assuming theres more then one)
Rest of the times we just joke around..like tell puppet hes a hacker and needs to be reported or saying seablade he sucks

Theres one thing that cant be over looked tho..no matter how good you are how good your coordenation is or if you have the perfect strategy..you can be simply over powered by the other team... brute force can sometimes beat finess no matter how hard you try

You are lucky I am not using my usual references and inuendos. Especially since I graduated from the Samuel L. Jackson School of Public Discourse.

What seablade said is right..., it seemed that since ranked warzones never came out there was nothing i could do to set up anything for PVP other than a PVP night, but Mondays would be the only open day in a giving week we could run a Rep PVP night,.. Tuesdays-Raid Wednesdays- I'm not availiable Thursday-Raid Friday- Joined Event Saturday- Raid Sunday-World Boss. So were pretty busy, the reason i haven't set anything up is because there is about 6 of us that are on every night that pvp all night, (Jakie, Geronim, Neero, Bunny Ayaex, Fintodo, and sometime COD) (and durring day hours i know Bodayga, cerv and foo) But we all already know each other and usually group up and start pvping on our own every night.

I believe more could be done. Depending on a group of friends to show up nightly-daily with no organization and no guild support will get you stomped in ranked WZ's. I have seen the competition out there. We need dedicated pvp nights, and dedicated leadership with pvp strats and appraisal of our pvp team.

If you need help with ideas, Jake , I am willing to help out. Or seek out Hamms. He displays great preparation in leading PvE operations and knows about team evaluation and strats. Let's put our resources together and start making PvP fun again with some more victories.

The answer for your questions is simple Ayeax:

4. Is there a general disatisfaction with PvP in SWTOR, thus no real interest? there you go.

Huh?
Am I being trolled??
Don't know how to reply to that.

Why would I troll you man??

You have some questions about Republic side PVP, well, im giving you the answer, as a matter of fact, you had the answer in one of your questions...sadly, there isn't enough interest for PVP anymore, and if there is no interest, why would you bother about organization or coordination? you dont need a PVP Officer for a 4 man team..and thats how it is right now, only 4 Republic players PVP "sometimes"...
