Hey guys, for those of you who know me.. probably know that I am a technology geek (not really), but I do mind having them =]

Anyways... well the future is here! Microsoft Surface is something coming out next year around December.

I went to CSU (Columbus State University) today and the guys there sat us in a room and talked to us about this new invention. The reason that they were so interested in it is because they will be among the first to receive one later this year, but that is all a different topic.

For those of you who don't know what this is.. it is a new invention like a table, it can sit almost any where and will allow you to do almost everything that normal PC can do, but more!

Words really can't describe it, but here is some videos:

It is worth checking out.

Also++ If you plan getting one next year stop cracking your piggy bank, cause' this pretty toy will set you back about 6,000$ USD

Interesting, however I don't see much applications for it yet. Gaming is kinda limiting too, especially FPS

There's a video on the link showing that when there's water on the surface, the screen will display droplets and you can move those around.....

This form of computers was demoed at on the movie The Island if anyone remembers. when the main male character goes into the head guys office and he is using a computer which is his desk.

i have a general rule of thumb.. i dont buy stuff that costs more than what i put down on my car. exceptions are buying a house/etc stuff like that.

that being said.. at that price range, nothing will get developed for it as far as consumer use goes because of the price.
and that being said, looks like a fancy way to show off pictures. i can think of a thousand type puzzle games to play with it (much like the megatouch screens in bars all across the USA)

god forbid you have children who wreak my dvd player even though its 4 feet higher up then they are.

id like to see how this develops. as of my 3 minutes of trying to think of stuff it'd be usefull for besides organizing computer files or media.. im drawing a blank. maybe ill update this post as i ponder on it more.

Looks cool, but indeed, I don't see any gaming applications :( (Pacman? :P )

Actually they do have one minuture game on it, it was made by Carbon game. Its a game were you touch firefly s and they squash, but as they have said, it was just for testing the game field of the Surface. I doubt it would be really fun to play games on any how.

I wonder why they even developed it... The consumers will never buy something like this, unless they've got spare money :P
I think this is more of a prestige-project...

i seen this last semester in a computer class the concept of it really cool but the real life applications for it dont seem to promising
