weird networking problem

ok so...for whatever reason when ever I turn my pc on my internet doesn't work right away, My computer says i have internet access but any application that connects to the internet says it cannot connect and my web browser tells me it cannot connect to the DNS server,

When i go to my networks thing in control panel it say is have two net works, one begin "home" network the other saying "public" and the public one says unmanaged, the real thing that bothers me is if I open my network manager it shows A LOT of data being used through my network, which is odd since nothing I have is accessing the internet, In order to fix this i have to go in, disable my Ethernet port entirely then run the trouble shooter after it says i have no net works to access (because the port is disabled) the trouble shooter re enabled the port and then my normal "home" network pops back up and this unknown public network is no longer listed and all internet access is returned......so any idea how to permantly stop this unknown "public" network (mind you this is on a desktop NOT connected to a wireless router its direct connect to my modem)

Naku, do you have Adobe Photoshop installed by chance? ( hehehe inside joke between he and I... :P)

Try this:

1. "Windows Key" + R then type msconfig and hit 'Enter'.

2. Under the 'Services' tab uncheck the one called "##Id_String1.6844 (followed by a bunch of numbers)" by Apple. Click 'Apply' then 'OK'.

3. Reboot. (while crossing fingers)

Let me know how that pans out, dude! :)
