How has your play style evolved in TF2?

I watched this video, and decided snipers don't have to be little sissy girls sitting in the back having a tea party. Corner-hugging, charging shots, and body shots are all anathema to me. If it's not a headshot, it's a miss. Granted, I also still really, really dislike counter-sniping. Go figure.

Nope, but I fail to see how a game mode would change that.

For example: If you play Sniper in Highlander, you want the Medic, Demo, and Heavies dead the most. Its big if you get the picks on those three classes, so you can't consider it "a miss" when you pick one of those targets with a bodyshot.

Would you rather win the match or improve your HS/K ratio?

Ah, I see. But why not kill the medic AND get the headshot? You win the match AND you didn't miss. See, I tend not to stay scoped because that causes tunnel vision and those pesky scouts and spies can sneak up easily. So instead of just popping little 50s, just get the headshot the first time. Now, I do no-scope when I know somebody's below 50 (i.e. I just headshot them), but I'd still rather headshot them twice than just once.

You didn't miss with a bodyshot. A full charged shot can do around 148-160 depending on where the shot was hit along with the range, so you really shouldn't be "popping little 50s". Not saying getting Headshots are bad. I know they are a good way to finish off targets quickly or get them to back off from the battle. The thing is, you want to dish out damage when you can. You should also take a couple seconds to look around before you do start the charge, so you know if a Scout will come up soon.

Just in case there is any misunderstanding, when I do take a chance at a bodyshot, I look before a charge, so I'm not just standing in a corner and just waiting.

I agree. Headshots are not a necessity on competitive matches, whatever gets the job done. Sniping in the front and dying probably means 14 seconds respawn time, enough for the enemy team to push the cart or get to the CP..

But well.. headshots are awesome :D
