If you already played Diablo 2, say it.

I did play it. And i heard that people who played Diablo 2 are disappointed of Diablo 3.
I didn't play but when i see my brother playing it, i m disappointed too :( but it doesn't mean that i don't like it.

I played Diablo 2, and although Diablo isn't the type of game for me, I still appreciate it for what it is. Having played Diablo 2, then playing Diablo 3, I was slightly disappointed. I played about an hour before getting bored. But of course that just my opinion of all games like Diablo. WoW, LoL, etc. I think Diablo 3 is certainly worth its price and people who enjoyed Diablo 2 will enjoy Diablo 3 too.

D3 is a great game, I just think things happened waaay too fast.

I like it... I think some folks might find it a bit boring and not challenging until they hit one of the harder modes.

I've played Diablo 2 multiple times but I never really got into the loot and powerful classes thing. I'd usually quit around midway through nightmare because I got bored. So far in Diablo 3 I'm having a lot better time playing. Gold is actually useful, the effects are awesome, the destructible environment is intuitive, graphics are good, being able to play with 4 people kinda sucks but that's alright. It is a little easy at the moment but imo diablo 2 was easy at this part also. So when you get to the next difficulty if you haven't already that's where the real game starts. I really like it so far and I'm definitely having a better time with this than battlefield 3 which is good.

I played Diablo, Diablo 2, Diablo 2:Lord of Destruction, and now Diablo 3.

I was superbly unimpressed with the beta when they opened it up a couple of months ago, however I pre-ordered anyways, and I can honestly say that I don't regret it.

The game post release is MUCH better than the beta, although I can't seem to put a finger on exactly why. Perhaps it's because in beta I wasn't playing with anyone I knew, and was just running with pugs.

But for whatever reason, this game is awesome.Graphical Effects are great, music and sound effects are soo impressive. You really get the feeling that your spells and abilities are blasting, ripping, exploding whirlwinding, whatever, and the physics in the game are incredible, with rag doll body parts exploding and flying everywhere.

Despite some of the release day problems, the game runs very smoothly also, with lots of stuff to explore outside of the main quest line (which is linear, but not TOO linear)

Overall A++ imo

Thx for all your comments, i read all. I know that this is a Diablo forum which means that people who go in this forum will at least not hate this game.
From what you say, i think i will buy it but it will be in Europe since i m french

Do not buy this game , blizzards security has been compromised , i just lost my account , my characters and my gold , not five days into the game, wrse still i know people who also lost everything.

there is apparently a whole team of hackers hijacking peoples accounts while they are playing and stealing everything .

if you haven't gotten it yet. Dont , just don't , torch light is around the corner and so is guildwars

Yeah, I'm sure Blizzard won't fix the hole or reimburse some or all of your lost stuff.

But don't buy a game because a hacker has a chance of stealing your account temporarily.

Hm, should probably stay away from every MMO ever, too.

And most shooters.

Unsarcastic point: Send an email to get your shit back, don't hate on the game because someone logged into your account.

Or use the free authenticator for smartphones, then you don't have to worry abouthackers.

I read into the issue a bit and people who use authenticators have been hacked also. Even people who have SMS alerts. They are somehow bypassing the security and have direct access to player accounts.

hate to burst all yall bubbles , but the hackers bypassed the authenticator
and they stole my stuff while i was playing. litterally error 60ed me changed my password stole my stuff and didn't even try to keep the account. and by the time i got it back all gone.

The reason why i say do not buy it is because in this case those affected were wide spread and apparently the loop hole is rather easy to exploit.

I am not saying do not buy it forever , what i am saying is do not waste your time right now until blizzard gets its act together and patches out the very game breaking stuff.

sigh now i am off to recoup losses ... giggidy

as for the whole account restore , let me clarify some things , at best they will restore you up to maybe a day ago , at worst several days.

also because i had to use account restore I am now one step from a permanent ban from the RAH.

Blizzard is very stingy with these things , two strikes and you could quite literally be SOL

Diablo 3 Accounts Being Hacked Even With Always-On DRM

Chipmunk, you got the account restore penalty wrong. You're banned from the Real Money Auction House if you have to have your account reset a second time if you do not attach an authenticator to it. If you do have one attached, there is no ban.

Some more info:

There are reports coming in that hackers are gaining access to people's accounts, even with the always-on DRM to cut down on both hacking and piracy. Victims claim they are missing gold and loot and have sent in tickets. Blizzard has been quick to respond by doing short roll-backs.

According to Geek.Pikimal, the reports of hacked accounts are stationed mostly on forum boards and reddit threads. There are warnings about the potential dangers of not safely securing your account. The reddit thread here indicates a measure of precautions to take to safeguard your Battle.net account as well as to use the mobile app authenticator instead of the dial-in authenticator, as the latter is less effective than the former.

The PSA is also attached to a number of individuals claiming their accounts have been hacked on the forums. And while it might seem like a roll-back scam to sell items, get more and sell it again (similar to what GamersFirst mentioned in a very similar case), it was later revealed by Tara Swadley of the Examiner (whose account was also infiltrated) that there are certain account names to look out for and avoid letting into your game. The names are as follows: ?leyiong?, ?Nevin?, ?SBJunkie?, ?luckllezz?, ?McLeast?. Swadley suggests not to let anyone into your game that you haven't played with before.

We've reached out to potential victims of these hack-attacks to try to get more insight into the specific route Blizzard is taking to deal with them, as well as to further secure accounts, but we haven't received any word yet from them. The only response so far, on the forums, from Blizzard has been...

If your characters are missing, please double check what region you're logging in to by clicking on Options and checking under the Account section before logging in. There is a bug that may change what region you're defaulted to, and thus it may appears your characters are missing when in fact they're on a different region.

If the account breaching is as prevalent as the forum and articles make it out to be then this could spell serious trouble for Blizzard, mainly because of the Real-Money Auction House or RMAH. Blizzard, allegedly has been sending out the following responses from their support team notifying players that rollbacks are limited and restrictions to the RMAH will be in place until an account gets attached to an authenticator.

Restorations for Diablo III accounts are limited, and we cannot guarantee the availability of future restorations after one is performed. Because of this, we require your approval to use a limited restoration to address this situation. If you would like us to proceed, please respond to this ticket and clearly tell us that you would like to use a limited restoration. If you do not respond, no restoration will be made for this issue.

Any progress made since the compromise may be lost when the restoration is performed. For additional information on how compromise restorations are handled for Diablo III accounts, see (http://www.battle.net/support/article/compromised-diablo-iii-account).

Note: After the first compromise restoration occurs on a Battle.net account, that account's access to the Diablo III Real Money Auction House will be restricted until an authenticator is attached. If the account is compromised a second time, access to the Diablo III Real Money Auction House will be permanently revoked. For more information on authenticators, see (http://www.battle.net/support/article/battle-net-authenticator-faq).

Account security is critically important. To help protect your account, we recommend following the Security Checklist (http://www.battle.net/security/checklist) on our Account Security site (http://www.battle.net/security/).

If you have further questions, please reply to this ticket. If you prefer to speak to a representative directly, please see our contact information (http://www.battle.net/support/article/contact).

Thank you again for contacting us. We hope you continue to enjoy your experience in Diablo III!

Blizzard recently delayed the launch of the RMAH, which was set to go live later this week. Given these recent claims of security breaches, if I were a betting man I'd say that the delay is to accommodate further investigation from Blizzard and additional safeguards to protect consumers.

The real issue, however, is that the whole point of always-on DRM was to ensure that not only were pirates kept out of the game but to limit hackers exploiting the game as well. This makes it even worse, however, because people who don't even want to use the RMAH or play online with others are still potentially at risk, simply because they do have to login to a server where their information is out there, regardless.

With real-money on the line this time, Blizzard cannot afford to screw this one up. You can check out the reddit PSA about further protecting your account."

The big thing that I took from this is that user's forum accounts were hacked and there were questionable players joining another's D3 game, who was later hacked. So the best way to still limit your account getting hacked is to be sure to change it monthly or semi-monthly, be sure to use a long, randomized string as that decreases the likelihood of being hacked, attach an authenticator, and only game with other players you know and/or trust.

So what you are saying is that in order to play this game ( a multiplayer centric game)
I have to basically only play what amounts to a lan party and avoid online play with strangers like the black death?
youch.

thank you for clarifying the restore thingy.

More over i can't possibly be the only one who finds that playing with others out side your circle casually is a death sentence a bit sad....

Thats really REALLY depressing

Well , apart from the obvious fails of hackers Time to talk about game play.

The loot system lacks polish. legendary items despite being 100 times rarer than any rare , are almost never better than equivalent gear , and considering how quickly a character progresses , quickly become obsolete in a matter of hours.

crafting is completely broken as both artizens require absurd amounts of money to upgrade
the later levels of these crafters also require more and more materials and the craft cost goes up too.

some one on the forums said that he wasted 600 000 gold and got nothing for it from crafting he could not even resell to recoup even a 1/10 the losses. Do not use crafters you have been warned.

skill system is fun but much of the runes change each skill the same way . for example pretty much every skill for the wizard has a rune for damage , a rune for cheaper mana cost and a rune for greater aoe. it gets to the point where certain abilities are interchangeable .

finally due to the ludicris damage monsters do in inferno certain abilites and certian classes are much much much more viable than others.

for example the wizard gets an ability which reduces all incoming damage to a flat %.
What this means is that vitality and armor is irrelevant . take this too heart

a level 60 barbarian with 50 000 hp and 6000 armor got killed in one hit by a mob in inferno act 2

a level 60 wizard with 12000 hp took 3 hits from the same mob before dying.

Just food for thought . But apparently the game only gets interesting after nightmare.

My last word of advice is play alone. I am not joking each extra player pretty much increases the hp of mobs by 100% per person. thus because not everyone does the same amount of damage the average group damage will be lower than the individual.

soloing is actually easier than group play . silly concept isnt it? did i mention there are no extra rewards for playing with others? loot tables are separate entities per person. the same drops playing with 4 people are the same drops for one person.

the Game is unpolished considering its insanely long dev cycle ,but it has potential
