lag all of a sudden

guys i keep lagging on all of our dodS server now for no reason. i never used to lag at all and now i cant stop it. What is going on? i got nothing downloading or anything sucking up my bandwith at all.

Can you tell us what kind of hardware you are running? Specifically motherboard, CPU, network devices, and operating system? Also, what kind of connection do you have? Cable or DSL? What speed? Wired or wireless?

well im running optinum online. i am hard wired to it, not wireless. I dont know how to find that othr stuff cause im def not a computer guy. I have 2 gigs of ram. 512 mb graphics card. im running windows vista 32 bit. and i got a core 2 duo processor at 1.86 GHz.

Also im connectign from east coast not using gamerail cause i never needed to. Lik ei said i have never lagged on our servers before and now all of a sudden im lagging. cant explain it. Tried to use that gamerail thing but i cant set it up for some reason. I have an encrypted network so maybe thats getting in the way of my config for gamerail. either way ill need someone to help me get gamerail to work.

Well, if nothing has changed on your side it must be an outside influence on your connection. If you don't have a wireless router then there nothing for anyone to hijack. I you do you need to lock in down with WPA2 encryption even if you aren't using wireless. failing that, contact your ISP and ask them to check your modem.
