Hey guys!

I'll keep this short and sweet but on the 4th of June I'm going to be taking part in a cycling event in my city and I chose to do a bit of fundraising for charity - Cancer Research UK. Anyone who looks at the ShoutBox knows that I'm a keen cyclist but last time I went out I almost fainted, so I hope I can train enough in a weeks time for that not to happen again.

I know that this topic means a lot to some people in eGO as I found out when I made the image for the world cancer day recognition news post.

When that thread was posted I did not know that someone in my family had cancer, many years ago my mother got breast cancer but our family was fortunate enough that it could be removed and she is walking today, healthily.

I believe strongly that we can make a difference.

I felt like it would be a good idea to post this on EdgeGamers as you guys have been my family for the past 4 years and this community means a lot to me.

So if you have some spare cash please give whatever you can, if not, don't worry I'm not here to force anyone.

Thanks Dobbeh, and no, NO its definitely not the london to brighton! Thats like 50 miles away. Mine is just a casual 13 miler - the great manchester cycle 2012.

I'm not riding anything special (Vitesse Sprint)- no moniez, but when I get older and a job I can't wait for a nice road bike.

London to Manchester?! Wut I said it was the great manchester cycle 2012, basically through the city, on the motorway through salford quays and back round again, as I said, I would die doing more than 20 miles, I've never done it before :O

Misunderstand me... you did.

Traveling TO London from Manchester is in excess of 50 miles.

Not that you are going to ride that distance xD

Anyway, you will enjoy it. The bike won't let you down either.

Just a quick update: Went out for a 25 mile ride today, thats almost double what I'll be doing on the actual day but it was awesome, I've never done such a distance before, and now I understand why, I've got bruises, scratches and my legs feel like they are about to fall off!

It was worth the ?20 just for phrases like "on the motorway through salford quays and back round again". Sure, it sounds like English, but try and figure what that means and it's all pants really. Oh, and it will be fun when I get me card statement and find out just how much ?20 is in real monies.

Don't worry Mush! Thank you for reading I personally do believe, within the next 20,30 years we will have a cure, if not all, most of the cancers.
