Hey folks,
So here's a weird thing about me: I really don't care to watch baseball, but I like baseball video games. My favorite has always been Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball on the SNES, but this year I decided to upgrade especially since my home state hero Verlander was on the cover.
I was going to start a season and simulate up to the current date and play the games the same day they are played in real life, just as a fun way to keep track of it and see if I can do better.
Much to my amazement, that is a built-in game mode. I started a season with my Tigers and it put me right to May 22nd, opening the series against Cleveland. I took them 2-1 with some great games. Now I'm two games in against Minnesota and I've lost both games 3-2. Yesterday's game went 23 innings (!) which was crazy.
The game is not without a flew glitches. For some reason yesterday Pavano started for the Twins, and they left him in for several extra innings. He threw over 120+ pitches, and they had him start today too. (RL had a different pitcher yesterday). He should have been exhausted! No big deal to me, I just enjoy playing it but that was a little odd.
Just curious if anyone else has this game and is enjoying this game and this mode. Would love to chat back and forth about our seasons, as well as how they stack up with how your team is actually doing.
