Lately, if I have been playing CS:S and about maybe 30 min to an hour, it will just freeze. I have to Control alt Delete and it will minimize the game saying hl2.exe has stopped working. and it will close. Any fixes? Please respond quickly.

Have you verified the integrity of CS:S' game cache yet?

If not, and you don't know how, just do the following:

1. Go to your steam library, right click CS:S
2. Select properties, then go to the Local Files tab
3. Click Verify Integrity of Game Cache

Doing this makes sure that all your game files are ok and not corrupt. For you it will probably find a problem with one of your files and fix it for you.

Hope this works for ya,

MGR

When done that, it just said complete and closed. Is that supposed to happen?

Have you tried restarting steam and/or your computer?

If nothing else has worked so far you might need to re-install CS:S.

Same thing happens to me! I found out that skins may cause this problem. If you have skins.

Here this link may help if you do have skins.

You might think this is completely unrelated but malware has been known to play a role in a computer not working like it should. Follow the sticky in this forum for malware removal and the steps necessary to solve it. If malware isn't found on the computer and the problem still persists, I would google search the issue or error message you're getting and do a little research on the issue you're experiencing.

Please respond quickly.

This is probably not a good thing to say when asking for free help as it probably won't help you get a quick response. I hope this helps you in the future.
