Good buy?

Hey guys, recently I have started looking into potentially investing in a laptop I can take on the go for gaming, my dad finally has internet at his house and bringing a laptop over to play on would be much easier then taking the PC. But I do have some budget concerns and don't want to go too crazy to find something, but I had a fellow eGO member direct me to this laptop and it seems to me like it is the best bang for your buck kind that I have been able to find.

I'm just curious on your take of this laptop, should I invest in one or not, is there a better one that isn't too crazy expensive or do you think this will get the job done? I would use this laptop mainly to play Source and Strategy games (Company of Heroes, Napoleon Total War etc etc). Any feedback would be appreciated, thank you.

The reason I selected this laptop is because it had more eggs than any other gaming laptop out there (the one you posted didnt even have a rating yet, so I really wouldnt trust it yet). Anyways, yes it only has 4gb of memory, but you can either buy a stick of 4gb & upgrade it to 6gb for $21 or double up the memory for double the price. The great thing about upgrading memory on the laptop is that its by far 1 of the easiest hardware items to upgrade on a laptop (I even did it on my old school amd 64-bit laptop). I would imagine for a laptop 4 gigs of RAM would be fine, and not to mention the fact it's like an extra $50 cheaper makes it a lot more enticing. I am really impressed with that model, I just want something portable to use that makes gaming easy. Medium to low graphics depending on the game is fine with me. Thank you for your insight pillar.

What's your budget? When you start to get into the $550-600+ range of laptops, you can get some pretty decent Intel-based laptops that will blow the above machines away (not to mention they'll have stronger GPUs).

These'll run Source and they'll run Source fairly well, but I don't know if I'd buy them specifically for mobile gaming, especially if you ever intend to move on to more demanding games.

I would put a budget at a max of 700-ish. I noticed some nice Intel laptops but I don't want to have to be stuck with a Intel HD video card.

You won't be. At that range you can get a good Intel CPU and still get a dedicated graphics card that'll run Source and whatnot.

This is the initial laptop i showed him, this one actually has the 6650 and tons of reviews not to mention all 5 eggs, with reviews stating it plays d3, bf3 and so forth.

Unfortunately, I gotta say that theres a better quantity of AMD laptops that have more of their own Radeon cards built into the system. Just figured id show ya this.
