ok i heard that some ego members put together a little free to play shooter on steam. i used to play it along time ago but i cant seem to figure out what it was called. maybe 3-6 years ago? u had a captain person that had options to chose from insurgents was 1 team and marine's or somthin was other..

yea, I agree with Panzer. The game you mentioned should be Insurgency: Modern Infantry Combat.

The only game which eGO has really created was code named "Project X" but it was never made into an actual game and put on steam.

As the others have said you are probably reffering to Insurgency but we did not make it.

Yes.

Correct

We have might have met with the devs, got access to special information (atleast on the leadership levels of eGO) about the mod, and single-handedly propped that game up with our servers and traffic.

I remember being in the Insurgency division a couple of years ago... wow.. memories of that game..

You mean the MOD division? No, the FPS:X division...

Wait, did they change their name to OP:X? Yes, yes, it appears they did.

Actually no. Insurgency used to be its own division if I am not mistaken. I remember when I first started I saw some people with Insurgency tags on the forums instead of the MOD/OP:X/FPS:X.

Insurgency was a division, then it was renamed to MOD, which was renamed to FPS:X, which was renamed to OP:X.

This covers about 2+ years of time. INS was a great game to eGO, and eGO was more than generous back. Supporting the game by itself more than what was expected of gaming clan. However, as things in life the game got old and the Insurgency division had to move on.
Trying to stay with HL2 MOD's the division became the MOD division, but as the name limited the division to only modification games. (and trust me there isn't that many) leadership met and saw fit to change the name once again to FPS:X (First person Shooter experimental Division) Only to find out after 6-9 months that the division needed a bit more freedom the just fps games.

Operation X was formed and poof here we are.

^ This lad used to help run it.

Along with myself, there were a handful of eGO members whom were helping develop the sequel to the game; which is now being developed by Interwave (if I remember correctly).

Part of the reason that I left eGO for a short period of time was the lack of Insurgency, which was the division I joined into in 2009.

And would I be wrong to say that didn't eGO used to support some american civil war game?

This was all back in the day, with hl2master, I recall? eGO has changed a vast amount since then. If you go and dig around in the news section over in OP:X, you might find some stuff relating back to the old division.
