I'm a css junkie with occasional dod play! A few days ago I was looking at my game library and most of my games aren't even downloaded. So, I decided to play tf2 to see what it's about.....well....I'm hooked! Don't get me wrong, I'm still css addicted but I can't believe I didn't jump on this game before! I will see you all inside and look forward to gaming with you all. I'm totally new to tf2 so if you have any advice please feel free to voice it.

Game On!!!

Game On!!!

soldier is the most beginner friendly class.

spy/scout is not very beginner friendly.

heavy is easy and you'll get loads of kills but if you're a beginner heavy prepared to be backstabbed a lot.

medic is interesting and as a beginner you'll learn a lot if you teamup with an excellent heavy who's using in-game voice. you'll learn about maps, what routes are safe, what a good player does in certain situations etc.

huntsman is lots of fun. it's most fun in blackmesa because of all the narrow hallways.

pyro is fun, even as a beginner. reflecting stuff takes time though. axtinguisher + degreaser combo is very very lethal and you can kill classes very fast with it.

enginner is beginner friendly as well. just watch out for the spies. a well placed/maintained sentry can get you lots of free kills.

Thanks for the great tips. I like pyro the most so far. I'm still figuring out all the extra items you earn. I love it!

Don't forget about that mouse 2! It's an awesome reflector, yes, but it's also so much more. Air blast can push enemies around, including off of tall areas, cliffs, carts, capture points, etc. And it can extinguish allies on fire. It's truly sadface how many new pyros don't extinguish. Save lives!

Aside from that, welcome to tf2! :D

While it's easy to learn, it's frustratingly hard to keep playing. If you don't have patience or don't know how to counter certain strategies, be prepared to have all your hard-earned buildings destroyed often, and to be backstabbed a lot.

Mouse 2? I had no idea it did anything as pyro! Awesome, gonna go use it right now!!

Play play play :D A great way to learn more about the game, or feel free to add me! I'm starting to play css too :D

Been seeing you on Foundry, welcome to the Hat Simulator 2!

i think ive seen you on Foundry as well. Welcome, mate!

and i agree with shawnJ's assessment but would add that each map provides its own unique benefits and challenges to each class. figuring out which classes work best on which map and using the best class to its fullest potential are vital to succeeding in this game.

but of course having fun is equally important :D

You will be addicted. We will recruit you from CSS, I know we can! See if you can attend an event or a few! They are loads of fun as well!

Ha Ha, you just might! I know what you mean by different classes benefit different maps. Thank you all for being so helpful and I look forward to seeing you in there. Now, GO SHOOT SOMEONE IN THE FACE! lol

different maps benefit some classes and challenge others. For example, 2fort benefits engineers because it has lots of narrow corridors and small spaces- easy to trap people with sentries. 2fort challenges scouts however, for those very same reasons- scouts are most effective when they can move and jump around.

it isnt as though its very complicated- you just need to get a feel for what works and what doesnt.
