Finally. An easy way to kill the snipers camping on the Aircraft carrier on Oman...

I knew it! I thought I was getting hurt it by it, me and Killer both were experiencing this.

i see smoke spam incoming. combined with complaints and crying.

There is no drop on the smoke grenade anymore. Basically means that the Smoke Launcher is a sniper rifle.

Also some people say that this smoke launcher bug applies to all assault rifles. Haven't tried it out..Too lazy..

Waiting for a word from our leadership about that one. It's a glitch, but so was the MASS, and we didn't kick or ban for that :angry face:

If it's causing server disruption follow the warn, kick, ban procedure. That is what we currently do with mass also so I assume it applies to this as well.
 
In all reality though, it's not that bad of a glitch. Nothing like the underslung M26 glitch, where damage was amplified. It's more of a accidental sniper rifle being given to the assault class, if you think about it. The player still has to equip M320 smoke, which takes away medpacks. If someone is going to want to take out some far off sniper, they'll probably just switch to Recon and countersnipe with a rifle, instead of switching to Assault and using the M320 smoke.

Okay, So i was just testing it in TDM. Here's my verdict.


It's no where near as horrible as the m26 dart was. You have to be pretty accurate to hit them while they're moving and you have to aim down the which makes it feel more like a sniper with low ammo. However, it does pose a problem for snipers who like to go prone in the distance. It's really easy to kill them. I don't see it being too big of a problem for people. It's not going to give you hundreds of kills like the dart did. It may just be annoying because of the constant smoke everywhere on the map though. You miss and you're pretty much screw'd if they're looking at you.


Basically if you like camping and going prone this is going to be a problem. Otherwise i don't see it having too much of an effect.

It is rather broken though: If we're comparing it to a sniper, it's better by 1) No lens flare 2) No bullet drop 3) Relatively quiet 4) Low deploy time. 5) Guaranteed 100% damage regardless of where it hits on the body so long as it does hit. 6) No recoil 7) Maybe no accuracy penalties (Not sure on this one).

Snipers have a lot to deal with and yes, the 320 Smoke has less ammo than a sniper, but the benefit of having a one shot kill on any server regardless of Hardcore status is wonderful, by definition..
 
sort of sounds like exploiting to me, at least that is what we would have called it in the old days.
 
its not a big deal, hey it even might persuade people to use smoke as a tactic to move up :)
