bf3 issue

bf3 issue *fixed*

ok so today i downloaded the new patch for bf3 and after that my game is malfunctioning.. when i try to connect to a server trough battlelog.battlefield.com my game opens the process, tells me my graphic card may need a update (this message has allways appeared when i play bf3 so i think its irrelevant to this issue) after about thirty (30) seconds the process closes and the connection messages on battelog (which tells you that you are either connecting or playing on a server) disapears.. looking at the cpu usage of bf3.exe *32 its jumping between 47000 and 49000 in those 30 seconds, but never more and never less.

have any of you had simlar issues or know how to fix it? all suggestions are welcome

ive allready tried to:
-reboot computer

and im working on trying to reinstall the game..

hope you guys can help me here

update: issue has been fixed. Turns out sicko was right, it was the graphic card that needed to be updated thanks man, haven't had the chance to test it online yet

Reinstalling the game is not a bad idea as sometimes patches can corrupt the game installation. I did some quick searching online (don't have a ton of time to research at the moment) and haven't found much in response to patch issues similar to your problem. On the subject of your video card, I would definitely go to the manufacturer's website and check to see if you have a driver update. I know nVidia recently released new drivers within the last thirty days for a ton of their video cards. As always make restore points before you make major changes to your computer so if something does mess up, you can always restore your computer to it's previous state. If you need help creating a restore point, let me know!

problem is last time i tried updating my vid card it messed up the screen resolution from 1366x768 to either 1024x768 or 800x600, everything seemed stretched and the icon was ENORMOUS. luckily it returned to 1366x768 when i did a system recovery to the day before.

but as i said i think its irrelevant to this problem as it has NEVER caused any trouble with the game before, but il certainly check it out and try it again

You should keep your video drivers along with other drivers up to date unless otherwise specified by other users stating the drivers are unstable and causing blue screens and what not.

The resolution issue is easily resolved by following these steps:

Windows 7
1. Right click on your desktop and select screen resolution.
2. Edit your screen resolution using the drop down menu within this window.
3. When finished select "OK."

Vista
1. Right click on your desktop and select personalize.
2. Left click the "Display Settings" link.
3. Adjust your screen resolution with the slider bar.
4. When finished select "OK."

Windows XP
1. Right click on your desktop and select properties.
2. In the "Display Properties" window select the "Settings" tab.
3. Adjust your screen resolution with the slider bar.
4. When finished select "OK."

yes but problem is, it wouldn't let me change it to anything more than 1280 if my memory serves me right, its hard to remember just this though
