OK guys heres the deal, My dad was looking for a new family computer, and he said that he would also get one that was good for gaming, for me and my brother. He was looking at a laptop (he wants a laptop) that has 3g memory or ram i guess, a Nvidia Geforce 7500, the only problem is its AMD instead of Intel, is the graphics card any good, and can it play games, even if they say in the requirenments that you need intel. Thanks for reading this, and I would greatly apreciate any help.
Thanks, Velvet Revolver aka FG-SP

Just donate his budget to the raffel :P You'll get a good laptop for that ;)
Seriously, I wouldn't use a laptop for gaming... Why does your dad prefer a laptop?

he wants a laptop, so it can be used around the house, and for travel, im just not sure if the graphics card and proccessor are ok, cause i know the ram is great, but AMD and nvidia geforce 7500 any good? will they work for most games?? i have no clue

As long as the graphics aren't integrated, and you have at least 256mb of video memory, that should be fine for DoD and CS:S. you may be able to see decent performance with TF2 and COD4, but not sure.

As the others said, desktops are better for gaming (and usually cheaper than laptops).

its 512 graphics card, but does amd matter, its not intel, do i need intel even though the games say to have intel

Game companies are sometimes sponsored by computer hardware companies to have their hardware to be "perfect for this game" on boxes and in start up sequences. AMD and Intel are both leading CPU companies, but it doesn't matter WHO makes it, it matters how FAST it is.

No game has, and ever will, specifically require an Intel proccessor. It's not only basically impossible, it'd be commerical suicide. AMD is a major, major, manufacturer.

There is a slight difference in quality of parts and heat used in AMD procs vs Intel, but it shouldn't really matter as long as it's one of the dual core AMD procs.

Actually, yer Dad will get a better deal at CyberpowerPC than say Dell (better quality, higher powered components). I've looked at them before, and they are not far off from building yer own pc (and most people who build their own use quality parts).

never tried a nvidia 7500 but i have a 7600gt and its on the AGP bus (old hardware if you dunno) and it plays dod:s/cs:s/and TF2 just fine. i even get widescreen resolutions and its still playable.

also, my cpu is an AMD. As napalm said, if its a dual core processor you'll be good with either cpu manufacturer
