D-Day (In Memory)

Their sacrifices can never really be repaid and our remembering them is but a fraction of the recognition they deserve. We in DoD:S would like to take this time to remember those who lost their lives on this unforgettable day and to also thank all those who have served and those who continue to serve.

Thank you so very, very much for posting this! This is so dear to my heart as our WW2 vets are quickly passing on. My Dad was in a submarine in the Pacific at the end of WW2 and I will miss talking about his experiences with him when that "day" comes. hey my teenage friends, you need to watch Saving Private Ryan if you haven't already. Puts what they did for us in a better perspective.

Another reason why EDGE is the place for me.

My great (great?) Uncle was part of the storming of Omaha. Took about 40 bullets in the chest from and MG42. Thankfully, none of his vital organs were damaged and he lived. he reunited with his brother, who served in Iwo Jima and the pacific, years later. Thought id share some of my history Thanks to all who served then and now. it what you/they do that make the our country what it is today.

This post is dedicated in honor of the brave soldiers, marines, sailors and airmen who served in the United States Armed Forces, the Royal Armed Forces, or any other armed forces in WWII. D-Day was a show of extraordinary bravery and courage in the face of the enemy and in the end, we triumphed against Fascism and Autocracy. Bless all those serving now or have served before.
