AMD is it ok for gaming (continuation)

My last topic was mainly about if the computer will work, but if a computer does not have intel, but instead has a processor thing called AMD, will it work with games, even though the box says to have intel.

AMD is the second major company in CPU manufacturing. My Athlon X2 5600+ (2x2.8GHz) works excellent for games, so yeah, AMD processors are fine for games.

Wait, wait, wait....what do you mean 'the box says to have intel'? The box your MB came in? Or the box your computer came in? Or other?

The intel Core 2 owns, its really good for overclockign if you're into that stuff. But it seems that intel is more expensive then AMD.

From what it seems to me:

Intel = Business/professional , casual home usage and/or server hosting. Bit more expensive but has better reliability depending on what you use it for.

AMD = Generally, gaming usage. Can be cheaper and have high performance while playing but also has been found to be faulty at times and can wear out pretty quickly.

Course, this is only from what I've experienced.

??? ive never had an AMD processor go faulty on me. Ive had many intels run extremely hot even with aftermarket heatsinks. and reliability for servers... Opterons are the bomb and a ton cheaper than Xeons (intels server chip)
