For those who read my last post you will know that the boat which I serve on has a hole in the hull which has been plugged with a 2B pencil. As off a week ago the dry dock rails which guide ships into position has been condemned. There are currently two ships in dry dock which can't be moved now regardless of hull integrity. My boat is still in the water connected to the wharf. Anyone reading this who have served in the navy will know of my frustration with military organisation.
I'm not saying the Australian Navy has lost the plot. All I'm saying is that their are some skills which have been lost throughout the years. Anyone doing a Google search on the Armidale Class Patrol Boat will know of my feelings towards the platform which I serve on. A naval vessel should not be contracted out for maintenance. If only things were how they were many years ago. Long story short, I don't expect to be going to sea this rotation. Also due to my key position of Survival Equipment Maintainer, I don't expect to be logging into Steam much this rotation.
The joys of the Navy. Gotta love it.
