Yes, a thread for this finally popped up.

I have yet to catch episode 9. Although episode 8 had a pretty epic ending.

(I'm gonna assume this is a thread meant for no spoilers, just talk about the show.)

Just watched episode 9. Geez this show just gets better and better.

I suddenly have a newfound respect for Amon for taking away Tarlokk's bending.

I won't start on it until season 1 is finished. Hate waiting weekly, but it looks decent from all the reviews I have read.

I think it is great so far I just hope it can live up to The Last Airbender
Oh and great video Raul.

Sister has all the original series on DVD. Once these are all finished, I'll probably watch it. Just not interested in watching it weekly right now. Tron Uprising is taking that spot.

Is it just me, or does it feel like Asami's going to betray the group at some point after E9?

Its nice how they stay in one place for most of the time instead of going to a new town every episode.

and what if amon is really sokka's son? also I was always curious to see if blood bending was possible or not

Well we knew bloodbending was possible. Katara learned it in Season 3, "The Puppet Master". Its theoretically possible for any water bender to learn bloodbending, but you have to be an EXTREMELY good bender to pull it off,

Yakone found a way to bloodbend a group of people at once, unlike how Katara could only do 1 person at a time, but she swore to never use it again. So someone else found it out and taught Yakone, who then taught Tarrlok

Also, What? where did you hear that Amon was Sokkas son...?

CAUTION. EPISODE 9 SPOILER VIDEO, BUT THIS IS JUST TOO FUNNY.

I didnt hear that, I just thought of it myself.
but we dont know what happened to his family so it could be

It's a decent enough theory I suppose.

All we know is that Amon's parents were killed by a firebender at some point. I'm also assuming that Sokka and Toph got married or something. If that's true, I really doubt that since those two are so skilled in combat, that they'd die so easily from one firebender.

I have a hard time believing that Amon's self proclaimed "background" is actually true.

This. I'm also on the side that Amon is actually a new character and not somebody we've seen before in the show.

So far the series has been okay for me. I'm not the one for shipping really, and this Makorra (fan dubbed name of MakoxKorra) stuff is really distracting from the plot. Granted, the action sequences are amazing, but that's all I really want. Plot, action, and a pinch of romance like TLA.

I'm also hoping for the Krew being able to travel to different cities next season, Republic City's design is nice, but is getting a little old. Although I like how they took up a 1920s' look and whatnot; it's cool to see the traditional cultures and more modern cultures of the universe woven together.

Anyways, if anybody read this and hasn't watched the series yet, don't let this affect that. I love the series, and I'm probably just being extremely nit-picky. I mean, the soundtrack alone is worth watching it.

Also, who's everybody's favorite character so far?

what if that
firebender was Zuko or Azula?

This would otherwise disprove that theory:

From the wiki:
Amon was born on a small farm to a family of non-benders; nonetheless, they were extorted by a firebender. When Amon's father eventually confronted their oppressor, the firebender killed his family and severely deformed Amon's face, forcing him to "hide behind a mask" ever since.

I honestly doubt that either Zuko or Azula fit that description.

I have a hard time believing that Amon's self proclaimed "background" is actually true.

I support this, but I don't doubt the possibility of it actually being true.

Also, who's everybody's favorite character so far?

So far I'm really liking Tenzin. He's a pretty cool guy.

Lin's got an interesting character design. Really like the metalbending though.

On another note, does lava belong to earthbenders or firebenders? (This just occurred to me today.)
