Win 7 .iso help

So this is what im trying to do. My primary hard drive is split up into 2 partitions right now (50/450gb) & im wanting to change it to 100/400gb. However I have a problem. Im not sure where I put my OEM dvd of Win 7 Pro (I have a legit cd-key). Ive heard that I can unlock the security features of Win 7 Home Prem (thats what my mom has, but not sure where she put her dvd set). Ive been working on downloading the .iso file versions of Win 7 Pro 64-bit, but this program called the Win 7 USB DVD tool says that the .iso file I have is invalid, even tho I got it from one of those so-called "trusted" sites. Any ideas/suggestions?
Also I heard that there was supposedly a feature built into the OS to where you could burn a dvd w/ the OS files or something along those lines. Any clarification on this by chance please?

I've always had trouble getting WIN7 to read Iso's. Not entirely sure but It sounds like a bad hash check on the iso.

Hash Check is a string of data unique to the file. The WIN7 Usb/dvd tool Compares that string to a reference string (either off Microsoft's Servers or an internal snapshot). If they match its accepted. If not its invalid.

Like i said, not sure about it so take it with a grain of salt.

Forget the program. Microsoft and their hash checks can go die in a well.

Burn the ISO using some burning program.
Alcohol 120, Imgburn(Free), Activate@, etc.

Make sure when you burn the .iso file, you select "make bootable media device", else it won't work.

If this doesn't work, I'll get you a copy of whichever Windows 7 edition you want.

Clarification:
As with any operating system, you can back up the necessary files needed to do an emergency boot-up in case your boot-up fails. ie; You encounter a NT error, preventing Windows from starting, saying it needs to be replaced. You use the back-up OS disc to replace those files, enabling you to start windows again.

As for Windows 7 having the ability to copy OS files, sure. But I wouldn't trust it. Windows is known to skip important files, especially if it operates at full speed and not controlled speed. I copied my Windows 7 home edition after using the feature only to figure out Windows skipped the home networking installation and the audio installation. That forced me to reformat once more or figure out what it missed, and I'm not spending time on that.

This is why when you burn a bootable .iso, it's not recconmended to exceed a certain x. For me, it was 4x. If I went past 4x, it started to skip files.

I have Daemon tools, will that work or do I really need Alcohol 120%?

Well good news is that imgburn worked perfectly! Like right after I burned the iso file to the disc, it reads it immediately & Win7 prompt to install comes up. Thanks for the advice, Ric. Now if my transmission issue is hopefully a matter of a lose hose, then ill set aside some $$ & personally come meet ya 2 thank ya for the help. You personally saved me a massive headache via Microsoft.

If your just looking to change the partition size then look at getting Partition Magic. There are plenty of "free" ways to get it. That should let you resize the partition without having to reinstall windows.

Well got some good news. Found a really easy alternate to Partition Magic. Its called EaseUS Partition Master & its free (of course). It works just like Computer Management's disk management tool, but better. Theres even a step by step process of how to use this program, but the program is almost self-explanitory (if you already know how to use a disk management tool). Anyways, because of this, I was able to edit the primary partition to the desired 100gb that I needed. Now im gonna work on getting all the needed windows updates. After this, once I get my transmission fixed, then ill start setting $$ aside til I can get an ssd for a great price. Thank you Hordor for reminding me of this. Unfortunately, I forgot the process of how to use Gparted.

To be honest I have never had one problem using the windows 7 USB tool, I have had the issue you had and it turned out to be the flash drive, switched the flash drive and the tool worked i use it quite often also.
