Ok the bad news first. There is a latency outage in your area.
The Good news: They are already working to have it resolved. The engineers will be upgrading the existing OC-3 to OC-12 (DSLAM, were your signal comes from). The contractors will need to complete the fiber installation before this happens. The work they are performing is designed to eliminate the current issue and allow for future DSL growth. You probably started seeing the issue because old equipment was being take offline to allow for the installation of new equipment.
Currently we are shooting for a resolution by 8-30-12.

Been happening since January. Only ISP available in my area. :facewall:

At least you have an end in sight. CenturyLink has no projected changes happening in my area, at all. Only ISP too. At least my latency is a bit better.

I really miss the cable from my last place...

Oh my god.. I would march down there and slap them...

but seriously man, that's too bad.. I wish I could help.

This is with fibre optics as you mentioned. The entire of the UK has been ripped up and fibre installed for all connections (excluding far to reach villages etc).

Beforehand, I was even lucky enough to get 0.50mb/s. So hopefully once its all done you will notice a difference :D
