I think the ability to customize which 6 awards appear under your name while posting would be a good addition, like something that lets you change the order of your awards on your profile so you can pick the top 6 that will be shown whenever you make a post. That way, for example, when I make a post, instead of people seeing my admin school awards or whatnot I could customize it to show off my yearly recognition awards that way people can be like "woah he's been in the clan for __ years, we got a badass over here". That's just an example.

Well, the lab guys have been saying to stop making pre-recorded messages. It gave me an idea. Make more pre-recorded messages. You own the website, you pay the bills, do whatever you want!

Honestly though I got nothing. Love the website, I can think of no changes.

Maybe a forum theme in big holidays 4th of july Xmas thankgiving and halloween

we have theme for each Christmas and Halloween last year. you do realize it don't you? by the way, adding theme for thanksgiving would be nice. I think it is better if we add only International holidays, not only US holidays because we have a lot of members from around the world too.

Yeah i did notice but i meant for the other holidays XD im on here 24/7 i can tell when something different on the fourms

You could change the background to have Icons from eGO's various games bouncing around. And when people post on the forums their little box that their text is in could have the colors of thier game that they play (they choose the game), CS:S would be black and white, LoL blue and yellow, WoW, orange and black, etc.

Oh yea, this was one of the things I was going to mention.

Another forum I frequent is very customisable, if on the homepage or forums tab, if someone quotes me I can see who quoted me and go straight to it. Adding onto this would be watched threads which I think eGO has but I haven't really used it because it's a little confusing. [Edit] I remember why I don't use it now, it's because it sends it as an email notification which I would hardly use and would prefer if it was on the website with the choice of PM's, which I would also disable, what I would really like is shown in the image below).

On this other forum it automatically watches the thread and it will appear under the "Watched Threads" tab once somebody posts a reply. An example of what it looks like is shown below.

Notification system for when you're quoted, ability to subscribe to threads, and get a notification for whenever theres a new post on them, as well as updated smileys.

An over all update on the site is needed. I know that requires a lot of time and it's not a paid time at that. (Trust me I know what is involved in updating a website) But, the web site that was really impressive is looking kind of 2009ish.

In order to drive internet traffic to the site, its needs to be updated. The newer versions of vbulletin and vBadvanced stream line the forums to run not only faster, but also make drastic improvements on Site layout (ads), and improve user interface.

If it were me I would run a few small tests locally on a local machine to make everything transferable, and make sure its the layout council, and the general eGO player base would approve. Then update the site on a rainy day, and poof some new toys to play with.

To comment on some of the posts in this thread:

Award Customization

This has been suggested to the tech & website team before. It was denied because the overhead needed for customization for this would be crazy. Each time a page is loaded, the website would have to look up and arrange each and every award listed on the page (that's a lot of stuff). Its a great idea, but simply not plausible.


Forum Holiday Themes

The graphics team usually puts out a different header for the major holidays. Sometimes things get a tad busy and misc tasks like that cant be completed in time.


Thread / Forum Subscriptions

You can subscribe to forums via the "Forum Tools" drop down menu at the top of the category view. You can do the same for threads via the "Thread Tools" menu at the top of the thread.


Forum Upgrade (vBulletin 4.0)

The community support for vBulletin 4.0 isn't as wide as the version as we are currently on. We also have a lot of customization built into this version of the forums that would no longer be functional if the forums were upgraded. We currently function fine at the version we are running.

2) Do something about auditory ads. It's extremely annoying to be browsing the website and someone to start talking about the latest cleaning device or some crap. I also don't want to have to report each ad that comes up, I'd like to see some system in which to stop it from happening in the first place.

I would like to see a chat box added so people who are on the site at the same time can communicate. I think I drop boxed this a while back but I'll mention it again, drop box is cool and all that but a chat one would be better from my opinion.
