Feedback: Ventrilo

Did a post about the website, might as well do one about Ventrilo.

What are your thoughts about the eGO Ventrilo? What could be changed to make your experience in Ventrilo better? What would you like to see added / removed?

So far I haven't really had an issue with vent from my previous experience, the occasional spammer comes in and can mess with people but overall from my point of view it seems to be fine.

Vent is perfectly fine and enjoyable it's what makes the whole Gaming experience go to the next level by being able to communicate with others without being ingame. Only downfall of vent is spammers but you can't really control that.

I only have one complain and it is That When i have my music in sync it kicks me after the second
song for Spam before it didn't do that i would really like it if we can change it from before nobody really comments spam

This was going to be my complaint.

I only have one complaint, and that is when I first went on the vent server, I was just a bit confuse with all the rooms.

When i have itunes up and integration on vent seems to kick me for spamming when i manually change the song sometimes. I did not have this issue till we switched vents.

Overall Ventrilo is fantastic.
My only idea to make it better would be to create a report person feature like the report post post button on the forums. That way if there is a spammer, someone with admin powers would be able to see who is spamming and where.

To me It looks cluttered with rooms. I think a quick organization would make it more stream lined. Other than that its runs fairly smooth.

I'd like to see the CS:S rooms labeled with the names of the servers so that it's easier to find people who are on your server in vent. I find that a lot of players go into rooms that are empty just to go afk, and when I join to talk they aren't there or aren't in any game.

I don't really have a problem with it, but if it's possible, I do have an idea. You could organize the vent server so that it looks like a bunch of collapsible folders, each labeled with the division or category. Then you can more or less click one to view all the rooms available under it. I have no idea if it's possible to do, but if it is, that's the best way I can think of to make it less intimidating/disorganized.

The only problem there would be if you were looking for someone in particular or a group of people, you would have to open each folder to find them. I wouldn't think it would be that big of a deal though.

If you right click, and hit Display, you get Expand, Expand all, Collapse, and Collapse All.

Well then now I really don't see what the problem is lol. And I feel stupid, because I should have figured that out with the "+" and "-" next to each one. >_>
