Would it be blasphemy (pun intended) if I suggested you use two different colors (say red and green) depending on whether the server went up or down in rank ([strike]TF2 division[/strike] Veelo already does this)

I don't do well with sarcasm . Everyone has a certain way they like to do things, and since Meg updates them she should do whatever colours she wants.
