The Unofficial? "Indie" Music Thread

[MGR]

So I did everything I could possibly do not to make this thread (aka search this forum with the word 'indie') but alas there were no recent threads I could find to put this song I just discovered on. What blasphemy! So I figured I'd just make an "indie" music thread so we could all share our newly discovered muzacks.

Please do not bash/hate on any music/opinions in this thread. If you do I will frown upon you with great vengeance and furious anger.

Share away!

I'll start it off with a band that I'm quite late on, but a great discovery nonetheless.

I love the Dirty Projectors, Bitte Orca is one of my favorite albums.

This song is from the album Hadestown by Anais Mitchell. Its a retelling of the classic Greek myth of Orpheus who went into Hades to save his wife. Of course this is a very American retelling and takes place during a depression. The video contains two songs, which shows our hero attempting to break into Hades.

Yea, I listened to about half of Bitte Orca and decided that the album was a must-own for me. I'm actually ordering it as I type . Anyways the Anais Mitchell tracks were quite intriguing. I'm going to have to give Hadestown a closer look.
