Nothing but problems with this new build I've purchased a month ago. This is my 3rd motherboard and I think it has blown again! Therefore, I will be unavailable till tuesday afternoon after I grab another mobo and get some answers about my case, from the guys that get paid to play wit computers...lucky shots...

Just lettin u ladies know. But if I'm not back by tuesday, Call the Police!
 
If you need any help with your build, feel free to ask me. I'm rather... well versed in building machines.
 
Ya its a confusing one..everytime I press the power button, all the led's and fans start up for a half second then it shuts itself off and stays in that cycle/loop of on/off on/off on/off, it will keep going untill I hold down the power buttion to cut power to the mobo. It isn't my psu, gpu, hdd, or cd drive. I've been troubleshooting. The only things left are my cpu and motherboard because of which I do not have a second one to test/troubleshoot. I'm thoinkin short circuit mobo or something related. My cpu looks fine, no pins or any scratches...weird one.

Make sure your mobo has stand off screws so it doesnt short out i forgot about mine and my comp didnt work for a week :chair:

As much as I'd hate to do tech support over a forum, Do this:

1. Remove your Mobo, CPU, GPU, and PSU from the case. (Unplug the HDD as well but leave it in)

2. Find a suitable surface to do this on (google it)

3. Hook up the mobo to the PSU, GPU, CPU, 1 stick of RAM, and heatsink. Out of the case on a electrically secure surface.

4. Jump the Mobo, or push the button if available, to start the computer.

5. Post here what happens.

This process is known as bios posting, this will FOR SURE tell you if it's the CPU/MoBo. If it continues to loop on/off, it's your mobo. If it doesn't you have to electrically secure your case so that nothing is shorting your mobo.
 
Yeah socretez :) already did that, that was how I came to the conclusion. It did the same thing. On/off repeatedly. Mobo?

And it seems as if all this happens after I was tweaking around my video card. Possibly blew the north/south bridge? This builds been nothin but h3ll!!

Hmm, motherboard was defective agaiin, bought the sabertooth and had to reinstall windows and everything, be on bf in 2 hours...6gig update...

Ouch, was the sabertooth the original motherboard that you got and had to replace it twice? or is that what you settled with?
 
Naa, I went through 2 now 3 P8Z77V-LX's...and 3 others I know use that board say it works like a dream.I've got bad luck

Figured I go big so I can stay home lol plus ill add another 560sc n call it a year or two

Oh ok. I dunno if I'm just not hipster enough but I only go for ASUS motherboards. I got a Rampage IV Extreme 2011 socket. The first one I got was bogus, but I just went and got it replaced. The benefit to having a high end mobo like that is that it has an LED Display that tells you, very specifically, what's going on during bios.

I highly recommend this board to anyone else looking to upgrade... but it's like 450 bucks right now.
 
Yeah sounds like an advanced version of this baby, the temp points are a plus. I still go with ASUS over anything as well
