I'm buying new headphones mostly for listening to music and sometimes play games. I was thinking about buying Studio Beats for $300. I know it has a mic and I've read generally good reviews on NewEgg and C.Net; However, it is a bit pricey. Just wondering if anybody has Studios and what their thoughts on it. Also, if there are any other headphone suggestions. Thanks guys.

I don't have a mic at all. But I do have an Xbox and have turtle beaches(headphones) and they are surprisingly ok. I would get the wireless headset. They cost around 60 bucks though.

I'd recommend against the beats, as for that price the audio isn't what you would expect. If you're willing to shell out the money, I'd go with sennehiser. The audio is phenomenal and it's a lot more reasonable in terms of price. I've had two pairs of them so far. One I got in high school that I beat till they died and now I have a pair of ear buds. The sound is superb and the price was great.

But this is just a recommendation.

this.
don't buy into that over hyped beats garbage.
its just like buying skullcandy.

Sennheiser pc360 if you are willing to spend 300$ those are your best bet, steelseries 7h are also very good. I got myself a siberia v2 because I don't have that kinda cash to fork up, but these are amazing for the 50$ I paid for them.

im the guy thats fine with a cheap set of $20 headphones, i just use my laptops built in mic

i just go with simple earphones maybe from the ipod and use the mic there as well

Thanks for all the responses guys.
Fullmetal, labowsky, and shan^K: I did look at Sennheiser's website. I wasn't able to try any on since my local BestBuy doesn't have any on display. I'll have to look more into those.
One thing that does bother me, even though it may be silly, is how the headphones look.
I was also looking at Creative Labs headphones yesterday. My friend has their 2.1 speakers and they sound pretty good.

I recommend these for general use on your PC :P

Ah, should probably make it a bit clear. Mostly going to use there for my iPod in class and listening to music on my PC. Big microphone be a bit weird to use in public. xD

In which case than, I'd recommend these. I got them discounted at a Saturday Matinee for $20 and I've loved them since. The sound is fantastic and you can't beat the price.

If you want it more for music than get the beats by dre I guess, I thought you wanted them for home use only so I recommended those.

Well guys. I bought the beats, but returned them after 1 day. To put it in nice words they weren't very good. Tons of sound leak, static/white noise when no music plays. Bass is nice but low fails at times. So I began digging around http://head-fi.org for some hours and decided on http://www.etymotic.com/ephp/mc5.html. I did look at the Sennheiser CX300. Even searched over at head-fi what their thoughts were between the two and the MC5's won. Guess I had to learn it the hard (not so hard since i got my $366 back from BestBuy, I had bought the 2 year protection plan with the Beats) to not go off what looks cool. hehe

I bought a headphone/mic. for $3 on amazon about 3-4 years ago. Haven't had a problem since, though the sound is obviously not as good as $200 headsets. I just can't justify spending so much money on sound when a slightly worse option is available for considerably less.

Bose all day erryday.

Or any AKGs. Cheaper stuff but great quality with an equalizer.

Head-fi.org<--- You'd be advised to peruse that website for either: (1) Suggestions on what to purchase based on your specific needs/tastes or (2) Simply search for a product you're considering purchasing to check out what the headphone fanatics over there think about that product.
