- Part of my FPS config. Keep in mind I play for best possible performance and I don't care for good graphics or anything else.

What are your computers specs DJ?

It's going to change to what is best for you specifically on interp settings. Just keep working with them to get as low as possible. Blue would be a lot of help, but I always get them as low as I can while keeping the text label white.

Computer specs are:
CPU = Intel centrino2 2.0 Ghz Dual core
Grapihics card = Nvidia GeForce 9300 M GS 512 MB
Memmory = 3 GB
System = 32 - bit vista

Internet speed = 75 MB/s optic fiber and 22 MB/s wifi
Using wifi mostly because I have a lapptop

I am running dod at about 50-75 FPS

I love you please come back

cl_updaterate 67 and cl_cmdrate 67 should be used on ALL connections. Our servers are 66tic, so 67 should be used on all clients connecting to them.

Interp settings will differ depending on your geographic location. For North American connections, a lerp setting of 33ms on our servers is ideal. For European connection, the default 100ms is usually best. For best results, don't go below 30ms, or much above 100ms. Note that if your lerp shows up as yellow you will probably have packet loss, and if it is orange it is definitely causing packet loss.

Rate will differ depending upon your connection's bandwidth. If you have an expensive connection that supplies plenty of bandwidth (10mbps down or more), the ideal value is 50000 for our servers. For slower connections with less bandwidth, I recommend 25000.

Noob questions...

what do i do with these numbers... enter into it console?

must i enter them everytime i login (do the setting hold)?

Is this cheating ( i'll assume its legit, based upon the players discussing it)?

Is there a resource you recommend to explain what the terms are and how they relate to dod:s.

Will this help me to game better?

Thanks!

As long as you don't change certian commands it wont be considered cheating.. all the commands posted are legit...

You can type these all into the console each time you connect to use them, or you can amend your autoexec.cfg file with them and they'll automatically get set (the same file your admin is set up in)

I love you [sumac] please come back

+3

  • they are console commands, which can be found in the DoDS FAQ sticky.

  • If you put them into your config file, no.

  • Nope, all the commands we have discussed here are 100% legit.

  • google terms like interpolation, etc. I don't know of any single sites that contain all the accurate information.

  • Depends upon your connection and the current values you're using. Most likely it will help registration if you use correct values.
