In my town of residence it is so hot that they had some festivities and stuff planned downtown for the kiddies, but due to the excessive heat they insisted no fireworks or anything. They even said those who showed up with sparklers would be asked to leave.

Wish I was kidding. I was working so I don't know if that really got enforced or not, but needless to say the extreme heat does have some on edge about it.
