Hello everyone, this is just a little guide I am making due to all the new =(e)='s, and the future= (e)='s of eGO. I was an =(e)= a little while ago, and this is pretty much what I did, and let me tell you, I had (still am having!) a blast being with eGO!
1. Get Noticed, Be Active!
Probably the best way to have fun on eGO, is to know everyone and have a lot of friends. If you do not know anyone, how can you have fun? Some may think it is quite hard to get noticed because there are a lot of people. Well, so what if there are a lot of people? Strive to be noticed! It really isn't that hard! Just do this!
a. Be active on the forums!
Leadership is constantly on the forums. If you are reading this, then well, you are on the forums too! Be active, post! Respond to question threads and polls, comment on videos and ideas, just be active. People will start to notice you, and eventually remember your name! This is the start of making new friends! If you are quite new, make a new thread to say hi and that you are new and looking forward to making new friends! Everyone loves these, because it signifies an active member.
b. Be on Ventrilo!
Ventrilo is where the magic happens. I am and was constantly on ventrilo, and it is a lot of fun. People goof around tell some jokes and try their best to have a good time. Now some may be scared to get on vent, well this is how to overcome that, just don't be! We don't bite, and even if you don't know anyone there, this is how you get to know them! I remember everyone I am on vent with. You know, we actually want you to get on vent! We want to meet you and hang out, so come on, we don't bite! (There is also an award, Ventrilo Regular
Just as an incentive.)
c. The most important, PLAY!
This is the whole reason eGO exists, to have a mature place where people can play without immature people, so we can have fun.. Play on eGO servers (if you go to the right of the page, there is eGO navigation, you can go to Game Server Listing, and see all our servers!), and have fun! If you are having fun, then others are having fun, if they are not, then they should not be a part of eGO. If I am having fun with someone on a server, then I add them to my Steam friends list, and I add them as a friend on here, and I try to play with them more, because it is fun!
2. Get Involved!
Now getting involved is much different than being active, it is a step higher. Now you join a community because you want to be part of something bigger than yourself, and you joined this community because you want to have fun while being part of something bigger than yourself. Well, get involved witht the community, and help it! This will help you to have fun, because it makes you feel like you belong here, and are here to stay.
a. Recruit!
You may think this is crazy, you may think "What, I just joined! How could I recruit?". Well, the answer is, anyone can recruit, and it is quite fun (except when you are horrible at recruiting like I am XD). I am great friends with all of my recruits, and you will be too! Heck, if you get enough recruits, you can have hundred of little (e) friends and start and army and take over eGO! Though that is highly not recommended! Also, join the recruitment host group, go to My Groups (Inbetween the My Account and Logout buttons) click the arrow next to it, and click Usergroup Memberships. You will have to scroll down a bit, but you will find the TF2 Recruitment Host group, everyone is welcome!

b. Join Groups!
eGO, apart from having Usergroups, has public groups that anyone can make. Join some you think are related to you, and you are interested in. There are hundreds of groups, and even some TF2 Public groups. If you want to make one, do that too! Though there may already be a group for what you make, so make sure you don't make a duplicate! This is getting involved, but will also help you get noticed. If you look, you will see that I am a member of 25 groups :O
c. Join the TF2 Fast Fill Task Force!
Now, you may wonder "What is this Task Force with a catchy name?" "What does it do?" Well, eGO servers are not always full. We have 5 servers (not counting the events server) and they don't always have a lot of people on them. The TF2: Fast Fill Task Force tries to quickly fill it up, so more people will play on it! This gives are servers better ranks, which makes it more popular and known! This is a really important part of eGO in my opinion. Also, if there isn't an announcement in FFTF, feel free to message all your friends to help you fill a server!
Ask Kazoo to invite you to the steam group, and join the public group on the eGO forums as well!
3. Follow the Rules!
This is VERY important! If you get kicked, or banned, you are not having fun. How do you prevent this? Follow the rules. This is a MATURE gaming environment, this is so everyone can have fun. So help it be a mature gaming environment, and follow the rules, and have fun!
4. Be a Friend!
I consider everyone on eGO to be my friend. Everyone, from the division leaders to the newest =(e)=. Not only do I consider my friends, I treat them like my friends. If I meet them, I send them a friends request on steam. I am nice to them, share jokes with them, play TF2 with them, everything that a friend will do. If you consider them your friend, and treat them like your friend, then they are your friend. It is impossible to not be a friend to someone who treats you like a friend, and thinks you as a friend. And remember, everything is more fun with friends.
Now this may be quite a bit to read, but it is a great way to have fun! And that is what this community is all about, having fun in a mature environment. Join the eGO steam group, and if you have any questions or need help, just ask me or any other admin/leadership. I wish you luck in your quest to have fun!
