I was talking on Vent today and we seem to have at least reached a consensus that after the post-update hype wore off, Doomsday has the same chronic problem as Blackmesa did, which is we can't fill it for any substantial amount of time. So my question is this: If you could choose what to switch it to, what would it be? There are a lot of other kinds of server that get big traffic. If you vote other in this poll, make sure to explain in a post!

Note: spidEY says that Arena maps don't support quickplay, so it's not a viable option, but PERSONALLY I believe we could keep it popular enough (what with the huge community that likes arena maps)

Harvest is by far the best map. the MiT Harvest map is always full, because no other servers have 24/7 Harvest. People like harvest because it is a small map, that all classes are good at. Long enough for the perfect sniping, perfect for spies, small for movement and good stair stabbing. Soldiers and Demoes can get accross the map instantly, heavies can just go in and tear stuff up, and scout can just roam and pick people off. Lots of enclosed spacing for pyros. It's the perfect map!
 
I think if we keep it doomsday it should be fine, no offense to anyone. Just we never were able to fill it normally without an event with some sort.

Even though I am a huge fan of Blackmesa I did not vote for it. Blackmesa is a great map, it is my favorite map, but this map does not help the division because the server would not be always full or with a constant flow of players which makes the server's rank drop.

Harvest is a fun map and a dynamic map too, during halloween it can be changed to the harvest_event variant of the map for the fun if the season and later it can be switched back to its normal version. Harvest is a map that not many people know of or not many people have servers with a 24/7 Harvest and we could try to change doomsday for it to see how it goes, maybe not soon as the doomsday server might still get enough movement for its rank to stay or to rise, but if it stops getting players the best bet would be to change it to a Harvest 24/7.

I think we should set it up with a rotation of maps that eGO members play. it would be like our ONE private server that wasn't just for events.
 
I think something like payload or koth would be very enjoyable. I often find it boring to play on the same map over and over, and I find myself on valve maps most of the time.
 
like sebax, i am a huge mesa fan, but i didnt vote for it, i voted for harvest, one reason that i chose it was king of the hill has always been my favorite map type, it is fun, fast paced, and all the king of the hill maps are fun, if we were to get a 24/7 king of the hill map server, i would be on there a lot. a second reason i voted for it was because i feel like the more map types we have on 24/7 servers, the more people we will bring in, instead of having 3 cp maps, why dont we have a payload, or king of the hill? what if some people only ever play payload, then when we have different map types we will have somethig for everyone. my final reason is that harvest is easy to fill, from my point of view, when me kazoo and goyan are out filling, ill come over to valve maps to get started while they wait for 2 or 3 more people, and ill get it to harvest, it fills quickly and stays full, then the map changes and vm is full, ( this is the longest post i have ever made btw, and im doin it on a smart phone :P ) so that is why i voted for what i did, thanks fir reading it if you did, you get a cookie :)
 
In my mind, I would really love to see a Rotation of a certain Game Mode. I would love to see a Payload or KOTH rotation in the future.
 
I didn't vote for Mesa either... I understand why it was shut down. That said, a community maps rotation server would be awesome. Not just for mesa... I'd love to play cashworks again, and convoy, and that weird map with the planes, also pl_frontier, the one with the train with a mouth

this. we need to give doomsday the same chance we gave mesa. it's that simple.

I vote Black Mesa back. I know that I had a LOA from TF2 during its fall in ranks and now its gone for good it seems, Im surprised when I was there it was always full, if Mesa is not back at least anything other than Doomsday would be better, I played that map and hated everything about it, tried it a few more times and same feeling. Doubt I will ever be caught on that server again with that map running. And with Mesa gone it looks like we lost some long time members that were regulars with it too.
 
Doomsday is actually doing well today, thanks to spidEY. He changed it so that it appears that we have only 24 slots on the server. Server has been practically full for the past six hours.
 
Ok I voted for blackmasa but I would rather see a rotation custem map server..I kindof miss Convoy, Warpath, Cashworks, and that PL map that was really Half life 2 walkerthingy.
BUT IT MUST HAVE BLACKMASA! Thats my 2 cents and its goign to cost you more then a doller to make me go away!(I have that T-shit)
