I just found this while perusing Newegg. It's a three part series on building your own PC. The first part is all about the theory and what goes into a PC, as well as some tips on choosing a spec. I'd say use that part as a starting point for additional research and shopping. The second part is all about the build itself. It covers setting up an external build to test the components, and then moving everything into the case. Also, if you're lazy, they provide the spec of both the builds they build, so if you don't wanna do the research yourself, just use one of those. Although I would suggest if you're going for a gaming rig, use 8GB of ram minimum. The third part is the longest, because it goes through how to install Windows on both rigs, as well as how to get all the drivers set up, set up a second hard drive, making a backup image and some additional tweaks once everything is set up. Everything is really thorough, well explained, and well-edited (lots of close ups). To the point that you could go from knowing nothing about the inner workings of a PC to building an awesome rig, just by watching these videos. Just so you know, I'm not being paid to say any of this. I'm posting this to help out others like me find a good build guide.
