Natural Selection for the Source Engine

Did any of you ever play the Natural Selection mod for Half-Life?

Well I was super-addicted to it and I can't wait for them to release their version for HL2. It has been in the works for some time, but check out this website:

I used to play NS more than any other game back in the day. I'm glad they are coming out with one for the source engine

What kinda game is this?

Well its FPS based on large maps that are intricate with air ducts to move in and out of hallways, crannies, etx.

There are the Marines and the Kaharaa (Aliens)

The Marines have a commander that views the map from a "RTS or Real Time Strategy point of view" he places the buildings like turrets and what not for the marines to build. and marines build them with use key. He can research weapon damage upgrades, give out shotguns etc. He basically commands all of the players of where to go, what to defend and how to advance.

The Kaharaa, (Aliens) do not have anyone that plays the role of commander or have aybody looking at the map in RTS view dictating what to do, instead, their builders are called "gorges" who build the alien type structures or organisms. The aliens can evolve into bigger and badder aliens as they accumulate more resorces.



The Goal: Control resource points and Take out the opposing team entirely, stuctures and all

The length of time: Can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours and on.

BABY YEAH!! I had heard about this, but I thought it flopped. I can't wait 'till it's finished.

Oooooo, I thought it was never gonna come out. Nice to know they're working on it. And graphix ish sexy. I love NS. Only complaint I have is that majority of the servers I've been playing on are based in Europe, so I get bad ping. IMO, it's hard to find some decent local servers. =(

I guess if you could imagine starcraft for the HL2 engine with maps bassed inside, where one marine commander is looking at the game like he is playing starcraft... thats pretty much NS
