Battlefield 4 confirmed beta fall 2013

Hmm gonna be honest... I'm not that excited. Sure I will probably buy it and play it, but I am no where near excited as I was for the release of BF3.
 
wow !!!!! We havent even settled into BF3 yet and they are already getting ready for BF4 !!!!
 
dont rly know what to think yet but i guess ill just see. i mean until fall 2013 all dlcs will be out and by that time ill probably be bored of bf3. lets hope bf4 will be as good as bf3.

Hey Guys,
Seeing a lot of questions about the BF4 beta announce and thought that'd I make a thread where you can find official, definitive information and help to address some concerns that I'm seeing.
The beta will be in Fall of 2013. We don't have a BF4 release date yet but, of course, it will be after the beta.
We will continue to support BF3. DICE and EA are dedicated to continuing our support for Battlefield 3. Just as we've continued to support and maintain Bad Company 2, we intend to continue providing the best Battlefield 3 experience we can well into the future and past the release of End Game and Battlefield 4.
There are several teams at DICE. Starting work on Battlefield 4 does not mean that we will be abandoning Battlefield 3 or working any less hard to bring you the best expansions we can.
Your feedback absolutely matters. We will continue to use it to improve BF3 and to make Battlefield 4 even better from day one.
Official details regarding BF4 will always be on Battlefield.com/battlefield-4. We expect there to be a lot of rumours and speculation - don't fall for it! ;)
Let me know if you guys have other concerns. Obviously, at this point there are some things that we don't know or that we're keeping under wraps.

EDIT: Additional points of clarification
There will be other ways to get into the beta aside from MoH Warfighter. At this time, however, it is the only way to guarantee entry.
We've been seeing a lot of concerns about the pacing of release (i.e. "only" two years after BF3). I think it's worth noting that DICE has released a Battlefield game every two years or sooner AND Mirror's Edge at least every two years. I truly believe that we're in one of the best positions to be creating our next title - Frostbite 2 has matured, we've been gathering fan feedback like crazy, Battlefield 3 continues to expand with features which we can learn from, and we've got more data about how people play than ever.

Battle Recorder
Spectator Mode
More robust eSports support

If it is 2143, I'll be very excited, but until I'm bored of BF3 and we see something about BF4 that is different/important, I probably won't be super excited.
 
This is extremely fast for a beta, something tells me it will not be as good as BF3, but who knows.
 
You also need to remember, release dates get pushed back, same as beta dates. I hope it isn't actually Battlefield 4, but instead a WWII revival, Battfield 2143, or Bad Company 3. It just wouldn't be a smart move to release an essentially identical game after Battlefield 3 (cue Call of Duty references).
 
If you think about it, it's not that surprising. BC2 came out march 2010, BF3 came out October 2011, BC came out June 2008, 2142 came out October 2006, heck BF2 came out June 2005. So really BF3 came out earlier than their normal cycle, so the beta for BF4 coming out in late 2013? is no surprise, I think its just that BF3 has kept a bit more following than BC2 did and everyone is getting in a fuss because they announced a beta.

Plus, what is there to be excited about? there's been no footage or gameplay

It can be a long beta to....

anyway fall 2013 is stil a long while ahead off us, the final dlc for bf3 is said to be released winter 2012-2013.
Which stil gives more of a year off gameplay before the beta starts off bf4.
So i dont mind beeing the beta release beeing then the time is correct, the gaming industry develops fast so games come out fast .

In general i am just disapointed its not a WW2 game, i really miss those.....

See this is what i like and want EA actually took the ideas that people wanted and are using them while what i believe they are doing is taking our ideas for what we want in bf3 and putting them into bf4 so they have a selling point they are still doing what was requested by the fans

I definitely hope its another future based Battlefield. Either that or WWII.


I'm getting bored of all these modern FPS.
 
Ok, Lets Skip BattleField Four And go Straight to BattleField Five. :lol: Dice & E.A. Wheels are turning again they see Dollar signs $$. Which means that Bad Company 2 & Vietnam will be slowly fizzling out. How many expansion packs have come out since the release of BF3? Just think of the money they have made and will continue to make. The are planting the seeds early, starting with little slips from the gaming labs. if you think about it, 2013 is just around the corner, that's when they set the hook... let us run with it for a while... The offical release dates and Beta's dates will be moved around a bit. I venture to say late fall or early December, just in time for Christmas. Just a prediction. One disclamier. If the gaming community sales, stats fall short for the 2013 marketed sales predictions, they will rush out the release in the early fall market, say october...then they will blitz the air waves thru different media and market outlets. I'm not really bored of the modern era necessarily, but the developers need to make FPS's that separate themselves from the rest. BF3 has modern era guns with all the weapon specialization options, all the vehicles, large maps, destruction, etc, which separates it from CoD and all other modern FPS's (it's even a completely different game than BF2, despite the shared themes). Now if BF4 is modern era, they better do something interesting to not make it BF3.5

Idk what they could do, and that's how people get tired of the different era's.

That's why everyone got tired of the WWII games. Because they were all the same, with the same general gameplay, and that's why (most) of those who played BF2142 loved it. Because it was so unique (IMO) compared to any other game in the genre.

Honestly, I don't like the future era. I'm all about immersion in video games, and if I'm playing something that isn't even halfway believable, I dont like it. That's why I like the historical eras and the current era. The problem is that there aren't many options for the historical eras, and not much to set modern era games apart.
