A Rather serious post.

The next person who says "we bc2 guys" or "we bf3 guys", this a division we are all a team no matter what game we have, play or prefer.

There's nothing wrong with saying that. Some people in the BF division play BC2, some play BF3.

Like what HBO said.. whats wrong with calling yourself BC2 group or BF3 group? It just helps identify who is who. When someone asks you which unit you belong with in the military you dont respond with Army. Its kinda the same thing. Its not meant to separate/segregate any certain group.

But my point here was that rather than "just" kick someone, skip straight to banning them but for a short length of time, particulary for the blatant guy who reads the chat, brags about what he's doing, and does it again. Kicking becomes pointless; ban them for 15 minutes and let them calm down before they get back in the game.
I'm not saying make every kick a 15 minute ban; I'm saying that, after warning, provide the admin with a judgment call of kick or ban briefly.

Papa, eGO policy has always been warn, kick, then ban. I understand your concerns but this is what BF admins are taught and this is how we enforce the rules. If you wish to make suggestions to change the current method, please put in a drop box post instead of a division discussion post.

Sorry Bravo51 but asides me breaking it down into battalion, company, platoon sections and pairs I kinda like the we bf2 bf3 thing. It kinda gives a band of brothers type deal to it. My statement was not intended for segragation like someone had mentioned. I thought once we stepped into the sign in page we were all EGO well except for me as I am a "new guy" who hasnt earned his tags yet.But you get the point.I am not being disrespectful here , I am just pointing out that we are all a clan be it bf2 bf 3 and so forth and all Ego once we step into the servers helping each other out.

Well, papa said they were kicked and came back and started doing the same thing again, that would be ban time. It is warn/ kick/ ban. Not warn, warn, warn, warn, kick, kick, kick. You put up a warning not to fire into or enter uncaps, that's good for everyone. If they violate it, they've already been warned, kick them. If they return and fire into uncaps or try to steal the choppers, ban them. I know it's get's tough sometimes and it's hard to enjoy the game, but you can settle a server down pretty quick when players see that there is no latitude for breaking the rules. Don't worry about threats to report you, if you warn/ kick/ ban, you've done your job, they got no complaints coming.

jtipton's conclusion is correct, I just propose a new kick w/ short ban. The w/k/b system works in most circumstances. Where is doesn't work is either the admin who is on the wrong part of the map, or on the wrong team, or simply not willing to do the ban. My proposal is simply this: if the violator is bragging about it

"this is war, Man," from the baseraper, or
"hahaha, get out of my chopper," from the team killer, or even
"who are you to impose the rules," from the ignorant cuss who doesn't care

ban them for a short length of time rather than kick them and let them right back in.

The bans that I see in game are something like 10,000 minutes (it's an odder number, but roughly a week). If the number can be reset to ban someone for 15 minutes, or 120 minutes, or some other middle ground then the admin has discretion to keep the game focused on the game, rather than his admin chores, AND (and this is the biggest advantage) can impose a penalty dependent in part on the scienter of violator.

As an aside, I have noticed in the last two weeks that the number of admins coming in, including several I haven't seem before, has increased. That has helped from what was going on in June.

The W/K/B has worked in the past. When you are elected by the membership you begin your Journey as an =e= . You are suppossed to play and enjoy yourself as you begin your journey. You are an observer and represetative of our clan, while you dont have any admin authority @ this time you still are a member. You have the power of observation & the ability to contact an admin in ventrillo. You can also copy down the offenders player unique player Identification, date, time & offence. then, submit a ban request. When deemed by leadership to be worthy, you will pick up your =eG= the ability to kick offenders, after the Warn has been given, Then Comes the Kick, if the players still is disruptive, again note the time & players identication & and a ban request. It will reviewed by and a punishment will be handed down and served accordingly. The Point is, even with full admin authority, we still use the W/K/B process. It works well. It's how our leaders want us conduct business. It is our admin guide, It's our Standard Operation Procedure ( SOP) Even after receiving your "O" you still are required to follow our policy of the W/K/B. Its how we conduct & do business on a daily basis. It works well just give it a chance. SWAMPFOX5000

Papa

Dropbox, even though council will probably not give the greenlight

Hyperthetically speaking, if u t ban someone for let's say 15 minutes, the offender will just comeback if he is really asking for a ban. T banning for a really short time is redundant. Another thing is that if an admin t ban someone for 15 mins and leaves the offender comes back and starts up again a new adim will go through the same redundant process

...Wirenut here.... I joined eGO cause of the efforts of 1 man (Beemer)... ask him how he likes running a daycare...actually, these answers preceded my post, along with the other fine chaps who have dug-in to help take out the trash in the last few weeks. You can sense the frustration in all of us eGO Maniacs... and I just want you guys to know how much I appreciate your dedication to keepin it "clean" for the rest of us (you all know who you are...all present in past posts above). Salute to each and everyone. I hope the people upstairs are listening, this may be an older dusty game, but we like it.... Wirenut Out......
