BC2 was down for whatever reason, so I tried to play MOH and OMG so wasn't worth the effort, plagued with freakin cheats and hacks so bad it ain't funny..no I mean it wasn't funny. Went on 2 different servers and both times my team was just decimated, and both times my team was complaining tell one or two guys to turn off their hacks...their replies..."Make us". Needless to say left both games rather mad, not at getting my arse kicked, that happens on a regular basis on Heavy Metal...lol, but that some chump has to hack a game to feel good about himself. I just don't get it.
Another thing what the heck happened to PB, I find it is on the same level as Valve's anti cheat...useless

I read somewhere in the last two months that PB code had been "lost" by PB, which allowed new forms of cheats which went around whatever PB did to avoid cheaters. Not sure if its true, and I don't know enough about how PB works to say whether it's possible, but it does explain why there have been so many "successful" aimer hacks recently. I've been in at least a dozen games this summer where someone was simply spraying fire all over the map (on killcam) and getting headshots all the way across the map. I never saw that before.

Punkbuster is not really that effective unless the person is using a certain scripting tool that you can download for free and if you have that tool running it auto bans you. The best way to get a hacker banned is find a punkbuster admin (i know one pretty well and have used him before to try and get a hacker banned) and they just submit a ban report and do all this paperwork and he gets banned. However often you need a video or a TON of evidence to get a player banned.
 
Yeah it sucks when u get a hack in and it will eventually empty a server. When I first started out playing in ego servers its was in rush. Now I cannot seem to get anyone to come into the server. I have spent a few hours sitting and waiting for people to come in. Have had a few bites and on occasion filled up a server.But then it starts......You get a full server, some good action a responsive squad working together in unison and then the !@#$% comes in and starts hacking or doing whatever they are doing and you start to see the comments. The server has nothing but hacks, this use to be a good server blah blah blah. This server never has admins. I have seen quite a few comments on that and its frustrating. I am one of those guys who takes the time to research a game, buy it and stick with it for a long time. I started out on delta force 2 and spent close to a decade playing it till I couldnt run it. Then I tried BF2 and loved it, but what got my attention was BFBC2.So i went out got a new PC and well here I am. The realism with this game was just awesome. I have been on the recieving end of sniper rounds in real life a few times and that crack of a round by your head well its scary but to get it in a game just rocks. The sound of the heavies has some effective realism that would make you !@#$ your pants in real life.The fact that you get to blow !@#$% up rocks too. I am curious about bf3 but have heard it still is plaqued with bugs, so I will bide my time and stick with BFBC2 and hopefully migrate with a Ego squad to it from BFBC2. It just sucks when you find a good crew and people start migrating to better games by themselves and wont stick around. Man when you get a regular crew who squad up and well do what a squad is meant to do well you cant put it in words....You just cant. Well maybe one.... FUN. I am one who really enjoys joining a squad that has all its team assests playing . I like to jump in (most times its medic) and rip through a map. I am one of those guys who plays not for the KD ratio but for squad effectiveness meaning fill where I am needed. I find it helps newer players adopt that role and mentality instead of worrying about the KD ratio all the time. I like to play the lone wolf to hone my recon skills with how far I can take a target out and put my marksmanship principles to the test. Hopefully we can keep this game alive for some time....

Yea since most have moved on to BF3 I find myself going to HC Rush to admin, but, I feel I am a great disadvantage, I do not know the maps at all, don't know when folks are going out of bounds when they shouldn't. About the only thing I am good for there is getting rid of TK'ers, I feel I am just too dang old and slow for it,but, I will admin it, as I feel it is part of my "job" so to speak.
And yes I know eGO wants me to play first admin second, I just cant do it, I was taught to admin first play second, and I too love the helping my team anyway I can, hell I laugh at my own k/d it sucks,but, I am one of those marines that likes to get in there and "do it".
What little of BF3 I have played , it seems to me all they did was better graphics, and if it can blind you..put it in. Don't get me started on this Premium BS, or the fact that if your on a limited income your just screwed.
I have never known EA/Dice to actually fix a game all the way, everyone I have ever played is full of bugs, that, in the end, they never fix and end up pushing to buy another game, all the while slowly dropping support for the game the community still plays.
I boycotted EA/Dice after the BF2 debolicle and didnt buy from them again until BC2 was on sale for 5 bucks, I missed that team play, I missed my BF2 clan, and ended up here at eGO,because I was on Heavy Metal loved it, and seen it needed help.
Now I find myself having BF2 flashbacks of no support EA/Dice failing the community that made them so great, yet again, and even worse, I am back to "where do I go from here?"

I agree comletely. It's not about the k/d; it's about the team win. One assault, two engineer, and a medic holding a position against a determined attack; what a memory! Timing the rockets to follow a mortar attack for a quick tank kill. Taking a flag from twice your number because of concentrated fire and approaching from the flank. Those are great games.

With all the new guys on the Heavy Metal server recently, good teams are now sometimes hard to find. Most of the guys just run around shooting, not spotting or using chat, too busy counting their deaths the team never attacks.
